Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. See here for more details.

The locals frequently refer to Eton and Windsor as "downtown Slough".

Now THERE's a romantic story, Eborian. Nice Born during WW2, you're probably my vintage.
I like the 'gathering momentum going downhill', John, but you're still only my childrens' age!
I was born here in Co. Kildare, just 40 miles from Dublin, Did time in England & Germany and I eventually brought my Surbiton, Surrey lass back here with me, only to create a large 'English Garden' in Kildare.....Not much downhill, hereabouts. It's pretty flat.

Speaking of romantic. Dang, I'm jealous. (Having had my shots I've since given up -- and the momentum of going downhill increases by the square of time.)

Central Coast of California, born and raised...that's Pismo Beach/San Luis Obispo area, if you know CA, or an hour north of Santa Barbara. Lived in the state of Utah for 11 years going to school. Had a year stint in Edinburgh, Scotland, as well as a stint in Japan. Now back in California again. Only ever saw one other male skirt wearer in my area, a guy in a black maxi at one of the local beaches...likely a visitor from somewhere. It's kind of a vacation spot for people all over the world. Anyone ever been to my area of CA?
As my forum moniker suggests I've lived in the Rose City for basically my whole adult life. Though for 7 years I did a LOT of travelling as a consultant.

I'm afraid you got something mixed up.
I was born in the Netherlands in 1944 and went through the Hungerwinter. A few years I had an American penpal (1963/68) and we reconnected again in 2007. After a few visits we married and now I live in Allentown, PA.
And indeed, our story is quite romantic, it melts people when we tell the long version.
