The Shendyt - ancestor of the asymetric wrap mini?

I have always liked the short skirt like garment depicted in ancient Egyptian art - ever since I did a project at school on the history on mud brick building and came across drawings of men in short skirts making bricks.
This is the closest historical item of clothing to that which I love to wear today.

It is also becoming popular in kids computer games and this might be another way that skirt wearing could become accepted for boys. Mini skirts especially.
