Breaking the Convention

I came across this video. You might have seen it before, but I haven't:

Quite interesting - and a similar narrative to David Walliam's book/film The Boy in the Dress.

Nice one! Thanks for sharing. Hopefully the more exposure the better people will try to understand.

There was an article in today's Daily Mail about Ikea furniture that is so difficult to assemble that it causes marital strife ( much like our skirt wearing can ). Marriage counsellor Dr Jane Greer said the following "Underneath, every discussion is really about how important am I to you? How important is my comfort and happiness to you? If I want this couch { for us read skirt } and it's important to me, then why isn't it important enough to you?"

Of course it works both ways as MOH could say that her opposition is deep-seated and if her feelings are important to her then they should be important to me. I can visualise her argument now. I'm not saying that this is the answer but it does put a different slant on it which may or may not work.

Here's the link to the article:

That has been well known and joked about in the US. The joke is that the word Ikea means "We hope your marriage is stronger than our furniture."

I wonder who pitched the story idea (Ikea/divorce) to the international media? The Wall Street Journal (US) had a story on the same subject Thursday the 23rd.
