Bargain. Absolute bargain.
Very nice kit. Very nice kilt. Be careful with that dagger going through airport security!
When I heard about skirting, I jumped in with both feet!

.....talking about airport security and getting through it wearing kilt-regalia. Surely, having offered up the sgian dubh, the sporran & chain and the big-buckle belt, the thing will still scream at the waist buckles holding the bare kilt up!!

Best to pack it all away in the suitcase in the hold and mince through security in a Jack Williams- style Gospel singer's ankle length loose fitting robe!.

On my last flight, I chose to wear a cheap old kiltpin as a test -- if it was confiscated, I would not weep much. The alarm went off of course -- it always does, whatever I wear, because of the iron in all the spinach I eat. I pointed to the buckles and the pin, was looked up and down and waved through. They'd obviously never met a terrorist in a kilt before.
Unfortunately, I was so tired from early mornings and late nights, that I went right off to sleep for the whole flight and completely missed the opportunity to hijack the plane at the threat of my pin. Next time!

The reason they passed you was that you did not fit the profile of Mel Gibson "BRAVEHEARTS" !
Next time try carrying a 5 foot claymore and see what happens - off to the tower of London with ye !

"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

Be careful everyone, this site may be monitored by the security agencies and ye'll be being hauled away under anti-terrorism laws. They all have their sense of humour extracted as part of the recruitment process, unlike us!!!! :D

wow nice find - that is a bargain.

I think its going to be soonish that ill have to buy my first kilt.

My dads side of the family are all scottish and im sure he said we had our own kilt.... but i usually only wear black or white so i think a nice grey/ black would look good.

this one is definitely my kind of style: http://www.thescotlandkiltcompany.co.uk ... cose-black

On a recent airplane trip from Phoenix to Los Angeles and return, I failed the x-ray scan both times while wearing a kilt. As a result, I had to be patted down.

The second time, the security guy told me the problem was my kilt buckles -- apparently, they pick that up as metal in an unusual location.

The security guy also told me that a week earlier, another guy had come through wearing a kilt and had the same problem. So at least it's good to know I'm not the only guy who wears kilts on planes.
Courage, conviction, nerve, verve, dash, panache, guts, nuts, balls, gall, élan, stones, whatever. Get some and get skirted.

It's not a good idea to say that in these parts.
