Just wishing and thinking if I was in Hawaii it would be oh so cool wearing a GRASS SKIRT.
But I would need to take care of wearing around the volcano least I become a human tiki-torch.
Think of a grass skirt as a skirt with grass strands as pleats and being almost fully ventilated.
Watch the pleated backfield hip movement.
Something suitable for a luau -
No dress code required.

Closing -
"Mele Kalikimaka and a Hau'oli Makahiki Hou"
"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

I have a couple of hemp skirts, very nice material, similar or better than flax (linen).

Well, if ventilated is important, I should probably prefer leather over grass.

I would think a grass skirt would be very scratchy on my legs and on my bum/hips - wherever it fits would be itchy/scratchy?
I'm sure the genuine authentic ones aren't lined - which would be essential for comfort I'd suspect....

In my Am-Dram days a group of us young blokes hired 'grass' skirts and spikey dark wigs to do a 'Hawaiian' sketch using a lot of brown body make-up. Not to be repeated, I might add. The grass was synthetic, of course.

Ha :lol: just turn on the lawn sprinkler.
Want a shorter skirt, grab the lawnmower.

While I can say it's very whimsical
I can say that is one skirt I don't want in my closet.

The real ones are made with Ti leaves or bark fabric, they look reasonably comfortable. Grass seems...scratchy.
