Re: @jvdd on TikTok

Thanks, both. Tumbler is a step too far into the realms of social meeedjya for me :-) How could I miss, dermodemuth? In my defence, I follow around 200 likeminded souls, so there was always a chance I would miss one or two significant ones out :-) This guy is off the scale when it comes to style (an...

Re: Hi from Staffordshire

And sadly yes I am a Baggies fan. We all have our cross to bear :-) Brompton's *might* be on our radar when we get to the next stage of our life journey (either remote working, semi-retirement or full fat retirement). We are planning to do some RV'ing in the US before returning to the UK to live on...

Re: Hi from Staffordshire

Welcome

Out of idle curiosity, can you explain your SkirtCafe moniker, or does that info need to remain classified to protect your identity? :-)

Wondering if you are a huge Baggies fan?

Re: @jvdd on TikTok

Thread resurrection time. I bumped into this old post of mine whilst looking for something else. I'm still doing a lot of vicarious livin' through Instagram but I've largely moved over to a set of creators who are nearer my own age. Sad to see that rtl3328, who I followed from his early days when he...

Bespoke Skirts for Men by Dara

Blog article here.

I came across Chris Hill on Instagram. You may be able to look at the thumbnail images without having an account.

I'm sure that such bespoke tailoring isn't going to be cheap, but I feel that the results are impressive.

Re: BMR Trains at Milton Keynes

Pete Waterman may not be well known outside of the UK, but he has a certain degree of fame (or should that be infamy) as a record producer and writer of popular music hits for the likes of Kylie Minogue and Rick Astley as well as being a panelist on tv talent contests. He worked on the railways in e...

Re: Hello from Milton Keynes, UK

Not sure if this is an urban myth, but I'm told that in the same way that (some) locals of Bristol refer to the location as Brizzle, some inhabitants of Milton Keynes have been known to call their hometown Milk 'n Beans :-)

Re: The Barbie Movie - misandry of just a bit of fun?

I feel this film is being taken too literally / too seriously. I haven't seen the film (yet) but my understanding is that it is following in the tradition of a long line of films (and books for that matter) that shine a light on society through caricature, satire and parody. Take the DMV sloth in Zo...

Re: New City New York.

There is a place called Newtown in Wales (used to pass through there many a time on holidays) and a much smaller village of the same name in England.

Re: As nature intended or a smooth operator?

I shave my chin as infrequently as possible as my skin gets very irritated and blotchy if I do it too regularly. Fortunately, my growth is pretty slow, I'm rarely in the office / in front of clients and my wife is not one of those ladies that is looking for a clean-cut guy :-) I am quite hirsute whe...

As a friend of mine once opined, Americans think 400 years is a long time and Brits think 400 miles is a long distance :-)

Re: Fox News: Supreme Court dismisses appeal from charter school over student uniform policy

I still clearly remember our old-school school headmaster from my early years in education (I'd have been about 10 at the time) reading us a passage of text bemoaning the "youth of today" only to reveal that it was taken from ancient text. The provenance of such text is debatable, but I do...

Re: My Post #500 - Some New Skirts

Yes, Anthony - the one and same :-) I was only about 3lb off my next goal (and the chance to treat myself with some new purchases) but we have had a a couple of heavy nights out of eating and drinking and now a long weekend for the upcoming 4th July celebrations so I can see my diet / fitness regime...

Re: Fox News: Supreme Court dismisses appeal from charter school over student uniform policy

Not sure if people picked up on the detail of this case. It was *not* about giving people the right to wear skirts. It was in fact about enforced skirt wearing for girls based upon outdated stereotypes. The charter school in question offers a “classical, traditional-values-based education,” enforced...
