Re: Our Wedding Both in Dress

Absolutely superb!! Had a look at your 400 photos and again absolutely superb! Throughout the sequence it was good to see the preparation. Having had 2 dresses made by profesional dressmakers i can appreciate the pleasure of it all. Good to see all having such a good time and I did not miss you both...

Re: Another Newbie

Just get on with it! You are so lucky to have such positive support, make the most of it and go out together and buy skirts (and dresses). Live your life your way and there is no need to be frightened about going out. I was like you 15 years ago and soon found out there was nothing to worry about. I...

Re: Tomorrow I Fly

I have flown several times skirted with no problems whatsoever and found the experience to be very comfortable. If you are a bit nervous it is all a big non-problem, I have spent several weeks in Norway in skirts and dresses, flying, car hiring and driving, shopping, eating out, talking to locals et...

Re: Where will we be in say... ten years?

Moonshadow - one skirt wearer per 100 mile radius? In England that would be 1 skirt wearer for tens of millions! Even in Victorian times we would have more than that.

Re: Postive Wife Support

Going out for a walk yesterday in coldish and windy conditions I put on some trousers which brought on a huge laugh and 'What, you in trousers??? from my wife.
Good response?

Re: stay warm with a wood burning stove

We have a pellet central heating boiler for heating and hot water that is excellent. We also have a fairly modern wood stove which we feed with dried and compressed sawdust bricks and this is also excellent and efficient. The most important factor in any wood or peat stove is the moisture content, t...

Re: Are you using the remain in place rule to your advantage?

For Faldaguy and others; I originally had a Plustek Opticfilm 7200 which did a few slides at a time - hopeless for the many thousands I have. The Braun Multimag Slidescan 6000 does 50 at a time automatically, but at fairly high resolution (2500dpi) it takes about 2 1/2 minutes per slide. It also doe...

Re: Coronavirus, how are you managing at home?

I have many thousands of 35mm slides and have set up my light table and scanner, this should keep me out of trouble/occupied for weeks to come. I occasionally get out for a walk but prefer to stay in as both myself and my wife are at high risk, it is better to be safe than sorry. We have just been t...

Re: Why we wear skirts and how does it feel?

I agree with most comments especially the one by Happy-n-skirts. I too had painful post op pain from surgery took to skirts and dresses to stop the constriction and ease the pain. That was 12/13 years ago and my only regret is that I didnt do it sooner. I am an outdoor type living in the country and...

Skirts and health?

A recent BBC programme 'Trust me I'm a doctor' featured a piece that could be relevant to us skirt wearers. When we are born our bodies have a large proportion of brown fat cells which burn up calories to keep our small bodies warm. As we grow up we lose much of this brown fat except to an area arou...

I have a denim dress and it is my least liked dress. Harsh fabric but ok for jobs around the house. Softer fabrics seem to fit better.

Re: Hiking Skirt

My favourite hiking skirt is a Craghoppers Nosilife bought last year. I want the same again but the design has changed so that the waist level pockets with a very useful key lanyard have been replaced with pockets on the thighs!!! Imagine a long walk with keys constantly banging against your leg! Wh...
