Re: Coffee Lovers
Fred, I have never liked tea. The tang of the tannin grates on my palette. I have never claimed to be "normal". In fact I am proud of being Abby Normal. Interestingly, my wife doesn't drink tea either.

Re: Hi all fellow skirt wearers
Tom, on a canal/river do you "drive" on the left or right? And is it different for this island to other countries?

Re: Coffee Lovers
Any instant any day. Coffee sophistication is not my thing. We hate strong coffee and are known one shot lovers. Tea is not our thing either although herbal teas are liked.

Liz, I'm sort of glad that it isn't just us that gets such busy contacts and lousy customer service.

Re: Hi all fellow skirt wearers
On a bike I need a mirror as I am blind in my right eye. We drive on the left which means that traffic is overtaking on my right. To see behind without a mirror I have to either turn right around on my right or look over my left shoulder. Either is awkward. For those who drive on the right switch th...

There was a companion to the second doctor called "Jamie" played by James Mc Crimmon. He was Scottish and wore a kilt throughout.

Re: Kilt flying
I flew back from Egypt once wearing a sarong folded lengthwise to be knee-length. It was amusing to see the security attempt at a "pat-down". Otherwise no problem apart from my wife's disgust at me being in a "skirt, even though I had worn a sarong all the time at the resort. I had de...

Re: Have you still got your first skirt?
I do still have my fist two skirts bought from ASDA. My wife was present and agreed to the purchase. They are denim, one blue, one black, elasticated waist and fake rear pockets sewn in. I don't really wear them much because they tend to ride down during wear so I am constantly pulling them up. I ha...

I was driving across city and I saw a man in a medium brown kilt. Definitely a kilt as I noticed the back pleats. Wasn't in a position to stop, unfortunately.

I'd say in his late 40's early 50's. Sorry Steve, I don't know what a typical DM reader looks like. I read it but the I belong to the "someone called me normal and I was never so insulted in all my life" club.

Re: How to trigger everyone at once
We have a gas combi boiler ( provides central heating and hot water on demand ) and am looking at the end of gas as a fuel with trepidation. There is considerable resistance to air an ground sourced heating because of cost, lack of understanding and a lot of the housing stock being unsuitable. We us...

Re: The New York Times: Defining Nonbinary Work Wear
I was reading a DM article by Janet Street-Porter in which she says, "Women have fought to dress as they please ....". It appears that we may have to go through the same fight.

A male customer was at my till the other day, smartly dressed - shirt, tie, waistcoat and I remarked on his smartness. "Standards, dear sir," he said. Thumbs up to that.
