I prefer to wear hoop earrings, 3/4 inch diameter max. Love the feel when they swing on my ears.

I think the excess material or any kind of pleat on a short skirt will help in prevent displaying your underwear. I sometimes think the mini kilt would be a good option if going to a public place, instead of a regular short skirt.
