Re: Men's Fashion Advice from the Globe and Mail

In the poll, more than 160,000 people were favourable to men wearing skirts, while fewer than 1,000 were against it. That's a phenomenal level of support - especially from an audience of mainly women! Stu No way of knowing the breakdown of male/female votes but in the comments below (which gives yo...

Re: Just joined so saying Hi to you all

Skirtyscot, I did try the longer skirt and it was just as bad - no way will she entertain wearing it in the the house. Very disappointed in that. Just wishing that BHS or M&S or any other mainstream store(s) would stock the things - and soon! Will still wear them outside though as I have n...

Re: Will young men ever wear skirts?

SKirtyscot,

Thanks for the correction - I did have it correct in my own mind but I swapped the US for UK when I wrote it down

Now corrected in the main text :D

Re: Will young men ever wear skirts?

Hi again Kieran, Thanks for the acknowledgement - hope it is useful. One further thing on ladies sizing - A US size 10 is actually a UK 12, so I usually look for actual measurements - waist and length. If you like one particular one which doesn't have those sizes notes, you can PM them and they shou...

Re: Point of no return

Dale, Good for you! You certainly went for it. 8) I too find that when you wear a skirt for a long time, you forget you are actually wearing one! That has happened to me a few times. Once last year I had to attend a "Driver Awareness course" - I had been snapped at a little above the speed...

Re: Men's Fashion Advice from the Globe and Mail

Talking about polls - some of you will have seen this one but some might not have - It too is very interesting:- http://fashion.about.com/b/2009/03/27/men-in-skirts-weird-or-wonderful.htm It's Hot - I like a man in a skirt! 118332 (72.1%) I'm Indifferent -> men should wear what they want 44948 (27.4...

Re: Will young men ever wear skirts?

I'm nearly 17 and very interested in wearing skirts in the future. Would be wearing them now but i just lack the confidence. Hi Kieran, Lots of good advice there but I would say that some of it is more useful once you get a bit of confidence. I would suggest a couple of extra tips to help get you s...

Re: Will young men ever wear skirts?

I put a bit of a premium on graceful and literate use of the language, and that includes things that are seemingly becoming obsolete like capitailisation and punctuation; I find it more work than it's worth to slog through a mass of lower (or, worse, upper) case gibberish that lacks any cues as to ...

Re: Just joined so saying Hi to you all

Sadly a wife can often be the hardest person to convince as well as the one we most want approval from; I guess that is just another manifestation of Murpheys law. Ian. Thanks to you all for the greetings and kind words Ian, how true that is in my case! I think she mainly objects to the short skirt...

Just joined so saying Hi to you all

Just joined this site a few days ago – so thought I should put up some info about myself. (I have looked in as a guest for a few years but only just now registered) I am one of the “auld yins” who has, just around two and a half years ago, discovered the comfort of skirts. I have had a kilt which I’...

Re: Cafe patrons' ages

I too have seen the track for myself a few years back - our son was taking a physics degree there and he finished that just over a year ago.

(He is still there doing a D.Phil so we still visit Oxford several times a year)

Re: Cafe patrons' ages

That's me added to the list - I seem to be in the most popular age zone 50-65 - and am slap bang in the middle at 57.5yrs ('54 vintage) and just a day before the 4 minute mile was broken.

Started skirts (excluding kilts) 2.5 years ago. Worn kilts for around 4 or 5 years before that.

Re: Skirted in Public 1st time

I recall my first time as well I was travelling on a motorway (UK), around 2 1/2 years ago (2009), whilst wearing a skirt. I had changed into it in the car before setting off. I noticed that I needed petrol so I stopped at a service station. I thought it would look decidedly odd if I drove off (chic...
