Re: "freedom. Society and only society will provide the answer, not those of us who are asking the question."
I've noticed a bit of an anti-trans sentiment even here in the PNW... pretty much the people I work with, which is not surprising, people in maintenance and craftsman trades tend to lean conservative. I've resolved to simply change the subject when it comes up. Ultimately what people do and how they...

Re: New Adventure begins
I worked late last night in Seattle and I found myself driving southbound on I5 downtown at night... I was awestruck by the Seattle skyline at night, what a beautiful city.... like something out of the future. People are so friendly here. It's by far the friendliest metro area I've ever experienced....

Re: Missing Cafe' Members
I've yearned for some means we could offer to those who face similar resistance a helping hand. This might be an opportunity for an author among us to publish a book or booklet on MIS that could open some minds -- a Primer for the family, friends, and Significant others in the lives of MIS? If I ev...

Re: New Adventure begins
Night and Day... I'm on another planet. From pro-life billboards and crosses in every business to... well... the exact opposite. One Safeway (a store I've never heard of, but apparently is one if the largest chains in the country) had a Halloween decoration set up with an actual witches spell on dis...

Re: Gynecomastia
I see men all of the time that have rather large breast and could probably use a bra, but most don't bother, I reckon because men wearing bras is not really part of our culture. I also see men that may not have large breast, but do wear shirts that show a very clear nipple. I know this has been an i...

Man.... this is some remarkable country.. I've seen landscapes that pictures just don't do justice. Everyone should do this at least once in their lifetime. We watched the sunset over South Dakota, and rise again in Wyoming... I've never seen anything like it in my life. We are now heading across Mo...

We've made it to Illinois! I-77N -> I-90W and into eastern Illinois? You guys are making good time for towing a trailer! Not quite to i90 yet. We're currently about 50 miles away from Iowa on I74. We'll rode I80 across Iowa and then head north to 90. The trailer is towing a lot easier in the flat l...

Re: New Adventure begins
Today the real fun begins... We finally left our home region around 6pm yesterday... we pulled the trailer across the West Virginia mountains in the rain. We made it to an Ohio rest stop near the WV border where we bedded down for the night. I admit, this was the first time in my life I've done this...

I'm with skirtsdad on this one... I hear this kind of rhetoric from time to time here in Appalachia. It is indeed ridiculous to the point of being funny. Frankly I feel somewhat sorry for a person who has such strongly negative opinion of the matter that they felt it necessary to pen a letter to the...

Re: New Adventure begins
I took advantage of the nice weather today to clear our my service van of most of my personal belongings, tools, etc. It was a strange sensation as I felt as though I was about to quit my job, when in fact, I'm not quitting the company, just moving (and with it a local [Washington] van) I also recei...

Re: New Adventure begins
Four days sounds like the right ball park. From the states listed it sounds like you will be using Interstate 90. Once you reach South Dakota the towns start to become few and far between. Drove that route decades ago when I moved from Iowa to Washington State. You are correct about I90. It looks l...

Re: New Adventure begins
If you've got a few days to spare, take 'em -- there is some fantastic country on the way, you may regret passing up the opportunities by rushing. Are you using a U-Haul, moving company, or both of you driving to bring the RV too. Hiring company paying for the move....whatever, seems a shame to mis...
