Re: Nuanced attitude to feminism in Gen Z
Mainstream feminism is a misandric hate cult, unfortunately. I raised my kids to keep it at arm's length.

Re: Silly reasons for wearing a skirt.
I have heard women who wear uniform say they need a skirt option because they have heavy periods. I asked my wife about that and she found that unlikely. It's just an excuse because they want to enjoy a choice men don't have.

Re: Am I Still Welcome Here?
We are all different and we all have our own motives. Some might say I'm more of an outsider because I wear trousers at least 80% of the time as they are more convenient for most of my lifestyle. As most women seem to know these days, trousers are the default, but skirts just make a brilliant change...

Re: let's list why we like skirts
Stu, you are becoming really tiresome. Sexual dimorphism is an artificial concept taught to children to simplify a complex subject -- which you do not seem to be capable of understanding or even acknowledging. Please do not keep referring to it as if it were a biological fact; it is not. It is a b...

Re: let's list why we like skirts
Jamie, I have no desire to re-invent or redefine masculinity, and I would resist any attempt by others to inflict their views as to what masculinity should be onto me. You do you. I will fully accept you as a man with feminine traits, but you are still a man just as I am still a man if I wear a skir...

Re: let's list why we like skirts
I previously listed the reasons I like skirts, but I forgot an important one. I like skirts because men aren't supposed to wear them and men shouldn't wear them because.... er.... There is no good reason why men aren't supposed to wear them. If we give in to arbitrary prohibitions that have no basis...

Re: Is anyone else trying to learn a language?
Several decades ago, while waiting to catch a train, I walked into a bookshop and picked a thin book pretty much at random. The book was Danish in Three Months . I bought it on impulse and started reading it on the train. My wife found the book and asked me if I was having an affair with a Danish wo...

Re: Article on masculinity, including skirts etc
The Chanel jacket and skirt look good and, as the article says, they can be masculinised. Why can't we buy such outfits for guys from mainstream outlets?

Re: let's list why we like skirts
Most of the time, I wear trousers as they are convenient; I can step over things more easily, climb step ladders, sit without worrying about showing my underwear or having straighten them out - and they are warmer. Skirts are just nice for a change. They are lighter, gentler and offer brilliant vent...

Re: Gender Neutral Fashion is failing skirt-wearing boys
You must have had to search back before Watson and Crick in the early 1950s to find it (possibly to pre-Darwinian times). I can also find 'science' to prove the phlogiston theory and 'science' based on the elements of Air, Earth, Fire and Water, but biology, physics and chemistry have long-since ab...

Re: Gender Neutral Fashion is failing skirt-wearing boys
Ray, I am allowed to express a view if someone says something with which I disagree and that's all I have done. You seem to be upset because I don't buy into something I regard as based on delusion that you consider as beyond argument. We are here to discuss men wearing skirts etc which I regard as ...

Re: Gender Neutral Fashion is failing skirt-wearing boys
Are you incapable of understanding the simple fact that dividing a continuous spectrum into two artificial divisions is not proof that the spectrum does not exist? In which case you do not learn easily Do you understand it at the time we explain it to you -- and then forget? In which case you h...

Re: Gender Neutral Fashion is failing skirt-wearing boys
Bear in mind that when Stu says "However, for everyday clothing, maybe it's not a bad idea to maintain certain external appearances that are unequivocally boy or girl, especially when it comes to older children." Yes - read that again - it was framed as a suggestion. The clue is in "...
