Crossdresser vs. Transvestite

See this in Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transgender#Cross-dresser Also note that "transvestite" and "crossdresser" are just about one and the same. One is in Latin, one in English. I believe that "My Husband Betty" claims the term "transvestite" ca...

Re: The term "crossdressing" -- pro and con

On your discussion of My Husband Betty... after "My Husband Betty," she released another book called "She's Not the Man I Married," in which Boyd further traces her husbands path from being "just" a crossdresser to being more fully transgender, living almost full time ...

Re: The term "crossdressing" -- pro and con

Sorry, I have very little good to say about middle TN, other than Nashville. The only thing I can think of is to threaten to prosecute your neighbor for harassment. In the Northeast, someone who insists on calling his neighbor a pervert can expect a friendly visit from the cops if the behavior doesn...

Re: The term "crossdressing" -- pro and con

Let me put in the Middle Tennessee perspective - Women in pants - practicle, comfortable Oh, really? My wife is of Southern descent, and she still feels like she's gonna go to H*** for wearing trousers to church. I've written an article on crossdressing, which I put on the Wiki. I think it's useful...

Re: Mens Control Underwear

The guys in those photos have such obvious core strength, they have no need for these undergarments.

Re: Proposal for an FAQ -- Round 1

This is great stuff. Thank you AMM for taking the lead, and thank you everyone else for suggestions. Very productive discussion. But before we go any further, I think we need to get this up on the SkirtCafe Wiki: http://skirtcafe.org/wiki Once it's there, I can link it prominently from the front pag...

Felicia Day's "The Guild"

Felicia Day is an actress and producer who has had success with "The Guild," a do-it-yourself online show. Here's a screen capture from some of the show's material; notice that 100% of the men are wearing skirts. http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2009/09/felicia-day-recruits-millions-for-her-g...

Re: We could be getting somewhere!

I liked his outfit overall. Nice balance of shape, colors and textures. And it looked natural on him as a guy as well.

And now... high fashion

Over the past couple of months, Juan has posted an amazing collection of interesting and beautiful high-fashion photos depicting (mostly) men in numerous outfits. Juan, I want to thank you for this (so far) single-handed effort at educating us of what's going on out there in the fashion industry. So...

Re: Pantyhose and tights

I have rather big feet, why hide that with tini tiny shoes? Because the profile of your bare legs (or legs in tights) is skinnier than the profile of your legs inside trousers. So shoes that look great with trousers suddenly seem to me oversize when worn under a skirt. But that's just my aesthetic ...

Re: Women Speak Up

... in general (straight) guys are usually dressing to impress potential sexual partners. I think there's truth to that when we're young. But once we find ourselves in a stable long-term relationship, impressing potential sexual partners no longer counts for anything, and can even be negative. Impr...

Re: Sightings "in the wild"

Hey, that's pretty cool. I'd just tell the guy that he'll have to do something a lot more extreme than wearing a Utilikilt if he actually wishes to question gender roles / identity.
