Re: Youtube

I agree completely with Stu: "simple, practical alternative to trousers for both [i.e., all] sexes." I like Stu's H&M example for several reasons. First of all, I like corduroy. Second, it's understated and unobtrusive. Fits in anywhere: work, leisure, home, out and about. Third, it ha...

Re: My work station for today

@Uncle Al, "Tea for Two" was composed by Vincent Youmans in 1925 as part of his musical, "No, No, Nanette." Shostakovich revised and orchestrated it in about 1927 as "Tahiti Trot." You can find many versions on YouTube. If you want to hear something really amazing, go t...

I see no reason that these would not be "street-legal" if you wanted
to wear them outside.

Re: Favourite shoes

@dillon, you can get these shoes up to size 46, and in 13 different colors. If sized over 43, they will send them over from Denmark. I got my Himmerlands in 16 days from when I placed the order. Exactly these shoes, except mine are in "bordo" color, a little darker than this. https://www.d...

Re: Skorts

A new word for me is Snoga.
Not quite the same as a skort, it's a skirt with attached
leggings. They are intended as "modest" athletic wear,
apparently for the very religious.
Google "snoga" for hundreds of examples.

If it's Mary Janes you're looking for, Duckfeet USA has a 20% off
sale from now until July 5.
"Himmerland" can be ordered to ship from Denmark, and over
they are considered "unisex" and are available up to size 46,
and in 12 colors.

Re: Tights, Pantyhose or Leggings

I'm not a great fan of Walmart, but they do have a huge variety of leggings in beautiful colors and patterns, as well as the usual black, in all sizes from extra small to plus-extra-huge. Typical prices are $3.88, $5.88, and $7.88. Especially around the holidays, when they have specifically Christma...

Re: Wearing A Lady 's Trousers

For what it's worth, I own three pairs of "women's" shorts. You have to be a real expert to tell any difference. Two came from the sale racks at Cabela's and Walmart, less than five dollars each. The third I've had for decades, its an original Chi Pants (remember those?) from Santa Cruz. T...

Re: new skirts ordered

@Bikerkilt, I called attention to the ModestApparel.com camouflage skirt over a year ago. I am pleased to see they are comfortable working with male customers, and will tailor almost anything to order. It looks like a well-made and serviceable skirt. (I don't own one. I am very satisfied with my cam...

Re: An idea

It's a plausible idea.
Would this be a museum of skirts, or a museum of men's skirts?
Either way, I would gladly volunteer to be a docent there.
And can you imagine the gift shop??!

Re: Your basic black skirt

It's not a cargo skirt. Those always have flap pockets. I find the flaps inconvenient and I avoid cargo pants, cargo shorts, or cargo skirts. The LS just has straight open pockets, two front, two back, and one watch pocket. Incidentally, they had the five colors I mentioned, plus white. Cute, but no...

Re: Your basic black skirt

Many Sears stores are closing, but the one in my area still has a full rack of Laura Scott 5-pocket skirts. So I bought another one, in denim blue. I now have five: black, light tan, dark olive, dark navy blue, and blue denim. $14.99, size 16 perfect fit. This is my second favorite skirt after the c...

Re: Sumptuary Culture

The Troutman address is actually in Brooklyn. I wouldn't pay $40 for this particular skirt, but I am pleased that they are out there. They only offer up to 32 waist. I need 36 or 38. Their statement about skirts in the "blog" section is worth reading. https://www.sumptuaryculture.com/blogs...
