Re: 70's men's fashion - what the heck happened since then?
I am a product of the sixties and I embraced the colours, fashion and styles. I wore the bright colours and sti6do. What has changed for me is family being ultra conservative and stifling my creativity. I am being pushed into a little box that doesn't fit. One day I may just break out, take a whole ...

Re: What would you have been called?
I have no idea whether my mother had any alternative name for me. Apparently my name was registered by my ( birth ) father without consulting my mother. In Primary school I disliked my first name, Dennis, but as the Beano was my favourite comic the name became more noted. Dennis the Menace became a ...

Re: Wearing a skirt on Halloween?
I love the skirt and matching top. Suave. I nearly wore a Xmas swing dress to my shop floor on Xmas Eve with the approval of colleagues but my wife very firmly over-ruled it. She threatened the D word, though she has calmed down a bit now.

Re: InsideHook: Troy Aikman Made a Really Stupid Misogynistic Comment During “Monday Night Football”
I was going to wear a bright green ( with medium sized random snowmen pattern ) long-sleeved swing dress to work on Christmas Eve. It was meant to be a bit of fun and to raise a quid or two for charity but my wife found out. I had the full support of my colleagues and even the support of two Directo...

Kilts, skirts, what does it matter? I do think that the white/yellow outfits look stunning. I'm jealous, especially with my penchant for yellow.

Re: I got artificial intelligence to write an article about men in skirts
fm, I grew up in that era and for any mathematics/science exam only a slide rule was allowed. I still have it somewhere but would have to learn how to use it again. I took my A Levels in 1972. As for units all our science lessons were in metric but my early years used Imperial. I am sort of conversa...

To err is human, to really foul things up requires a computer. The bigger the negative impact, the greater the likelihood of it happening.

Re: That Damn Denim
misha et al, where do you get the idea that men can only wear 6 drab colours from? Men can wear any colour, including baby pink. From my early teens I have sported bright colours, black, blue, brown, purple, red, yellow. The only colours I can think of that I don't have much of are green and orange....

Re: Notre Dame Magazine: What I’m Reading: Skirts, Kimberly Chrisman-Campbell
How can skirts be considered garb for females or women when so many no longer wear them? Let us pick up what they are discarding.
Re: Ukraine
If it appears as a war, looks like a war and sounds like a war then it's a war. Semantics be damned, special operations indeed..
Re: Deadpan
Stu, some of the best satire around the time of TW3 [0] were 2 radio series - Round the Horne and Beyond Our Ken. You catch Kenneth Williams and Hugh Paddick and others at their very best. Rambling Syd Rumpo and Julian and Sandy. Absolutely brilliant. pelmut, I remember some of them and others not. ...
Ukraine
I came across this on msn and it really sobered me. Please try and identify Ukraine.

Re: Deadpan
STU, i consider that we were brought up in the Golden Age of Comedy ( at least I consider I was ). The earliest I remember was The Army Game followed by Tony Hancock. My sense of humour broadened and sharpened by greats such as Arthur Askey, Laurel and Hardy, the Marx Brothers and many, many, many m...

Re: That Damn Denim
Like ScotL I don't see any reason for the hatred of denim that some of you have. If you don't want to wear it, don't, but some of us are quite happy with it. Yes, it's perhaps an overused material, the ripped look ridiculous and tiresome on the eyes but is it any worse than, say, polycotton? Denim i...
Re: Deadpan
Stu, brilliant and I couldn't help but giggle as I saw the jest straight away. I guess that is an advantage of age, depth of education and wit showing a sharp mind. I love it.
