Re: Subscription services irony

Simply put, I can't afford an EV. The cheapest base models can cost an upwards of $30k-40k. So you buy used... okay, then the clock is ticking on that battery which will gradually wear down and in 5-8 years will need to be replaced to the tune of anywhere from $5k-20k. I live in an RV park with 30 a...

Re: Cash or plastic?

My gripe is not for using cash or card, it's charging a fee for using a card when I can demonstrate that handling cash is also a business expense. I honestly don't care either way, I carry a little cash and plastic for whichever is more appropriate for the situation. I will say though, credit cards,...

Cash or plastic?

I'm noticing a trend more and more, back east it was starting to catch on in maybe about two out of twenty businesses, here in the PNW I notice anywhere from 50-75% of smaller businesses are doing this... ... charging an extra fee for using a credit card to pay for your purchase. On the other hand, ...

Re: Subscription services irony

The whole newspaper / magazine industry is in a total mess right now. Good journalism costs money to produce and, unfortunately, too many people have become used to not buying news publications and instead getting content for free over the Internet (that Berners-Lee guy has a lot to answer for :-) ...

Re: Gender Neutral Fashion is failing skirt-wearing boys

I would ponder though, since sex and gender are one and the same, when we assign feminine gender to objects like a sailing ship, where might I find the ovaries and vagina on this vessel? When a hurricane make forms in the Atlantic, how do we determine whether to give it a boy name or a girl name? Is...

Re: Gender Neutral Fashion is failing skirt-wearing boys

I've come to realize over the years that in this current age we're in, is that there are a lot of people who seem to enjoy to stake out their little hilltop and shout their opinions out across the land whether they were wanted or not. There are numerous documents, discussions, text, published works,...

Re: Moral Outrage Because of a Small Clip

In Appalachia, a man could wear a gun and a skirt. I never carried a firearm while wearing a skirt, but I did wield a mean caulking gun one time while sealing up some crevices around the house. I dare anyone to stop me, lest I break out my trusty Arrow staple gun with the long staples in the stock. ...

Subscription services irony

It's often stated that subscription services are getting out of hand... and you can read all about it in this WSJ piece from a few years ago, however it will require... a subscription...

There is no such thing as non-binary.
Well that settles that... the gender guru has spoken!

We can all go home now, someone hit the lights on the way out.

There is also no such thing as the color blue.

We haven't heard from him in over a year, though, so I hope he's still OK.
He's fine... Liz reached out to him a few weeks back via online message.

Re: Shout out (Duvall, Washington)

When I first came here, whilst in one of the Haggen grocery stores, I did see a guy in a hunter green utility kilt stocking shelves. But it wasn't the member I'm referring to.

Shout out (Duvall, Washington)

Every time I drive through here, I find I'm always on the lookout for a guy wearing a dress, driving a vintage Volvo and lugging a Nikon camera along the various trailheads along the roadsides. Still no sightings... but someday.... 8) Pop quiz... who here knows the member I refer to? (No cheating! :...
