Wow, never get lost when wearing that skirt -- at least until the batteries die!

Brave
Well, I went to see "Brave" with my wife, son and perhaps future d-in-law. It was a fine movie about ancient, kilt-wearing Scots and bears (bears?). Well, if there were any bears, the ancient Scots would have had a great deal of fun with them. ' Of course, I wore a kilt.... no one seemed t...

Re: How do you feel when...
I was wearing a sarong one day on Isla Mujerues in Mexico, a touristy area. The local Mexicans boys and young men are very much into the macho thing there and I got a lot of odd looks. However, one finally said something and said "nice kilt"... So yes, there is a lot of confusion, even in ...

Re: Do folks notice or not?
In my experience, it depends on the kind of skirt you are wearing... I have a cargo skirt from Eddie Bauer that looks very much like cargo shorts, it is knee length and has about a 4" slit in the center starting at the hem which really gives the impression of shorts. It's very rare that anyone ...

Mugman,
Your comment "...I wear them [skirts] sometimes as a change from kilts" is perfection.

Re: A skirt or a kilt
Rick, Alter it from the bottom, if you have a surger, you can just buzz it off without folding. If not, then you should do a traditional hem (folder over, etc.). Now, WRT to people's ability to determine a "true" kilt. I have worn ankle length sarongs and been asked if it was a kilt. Most ...

I have also owned the Stillwater kilt, it was much heavier and the fabric didn't seem to be as strong as the SportKilt, the Stillwater seemed like it would shake apart over time....

Re: NATIONAL TARTAN DAY Friday April 6 2012
We are headed to the Rider's Inn, an 18th century stagecoach inn, this afternoon for an overnight. The Inn is about a 2.5 hour drive and is located near family. I will be wearing one my my kilts, perhaps my homemade "Ancient Hunting Miller". There is no such tartan, but I found a fabric I ...

Re: Sportskilt
Sportkilt makes a very lightweight version called a "hiking" kilt, I own 2 of these and they are made of very lightweight fabric and are very good for hot days and/or hiking. They are also inexpensive.... I recommend them.

Re: Nightshirts again
Check out these nightshirts (at the bottom of the page), I own 3 of them, both short and long sleeve and find them very comfortable. Further, I don't have problems with them attempting to strangle me if I am having a rough night (lots of rolling, tossing). http://www.wintersilks.com/products.aspx?BR...

Re: Stump Town Kilts
I own several kilts and have made 4 of my own. I find $185 expensive. However, I do like the look of the stump kilts and would consider purchasing one if the price were closer to $100.00 I wonder how Sportkilt is doing it. They have a product which is decent and can be had for around $100 depending ...
