Re: The Driving Kilt or Driving Skirt

Terrible English - double negative sets a bad example. No it doesn't. It does a very good job of illustrating bad usage. There are, of course, times when double negatives have an important meaning. An example: there are four kinds of risk those you can afford to take; those you can afford not to ta...

Re: Perils of skirting

What's troubling to me is that presumedly there's the same amount of spatter when wearing trousers and we never notice. On Australia's ABC radio a number of years ago we had a doctor who specialised in diagnosing ailments in people long dead. In one case he diagnosed diabetes from a picture of a ma...

Lucky you!
I've seen another man in a skirt once in the last five years.

Re: Where did you first get the idea to wear a skirt?

My first experience is easy to name. As a teenager, I migrated form the UK to Aus, having to dig the car out of snow to start the journey and landing in the middle of a hot summer. My school uniform included mid-thigh shorts which were excessively hot and by the time I got home not only were my shor...

Re: (Good) Comments are king.

I've had many good comments, including several over a number of weeks following a TV interview I did on men wearing skirts, but two come to mind as significant. On one hot day I had been at work on the edge of the CBD, in a simple A-line knee-length khaki skirt, light green shirt, and sandals. I fin...

Fear of femininity explains it all.
Have you read www.men-in-skirts.org/skirtsinAus.html? It's worth a read, even if it was written some while ago.

Re: When will men wear women's clothing...

I am a woman (in a man's body). Even my psychologist thinks I am a woman. Thanks Rokje. That journey is long and can be difficult, so best wishes for you. I raised the question as I know of many people who feel that they must be women because they want to wear what is socially acceptable for women,...

Re: When will men wear women's clothing...

And wear dresses. 3 months ago I told MOH, that I'm a woman in the body of a man. I was wearing skirts all day for 7 months or so. Now I can add dresses as well to my garment. With a little help from MOH. :D Whilst I support you in your tough decision I am always concerned when a male (young or old...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

On Thursday evening just gone I was in Melbourne and met up with another Skirt Café member for a snack and drink. Not being sure of the safety of the area close to China Town I had arrived in drain pipes. I changed quickly into a black knee-length A-line skirt once we had met and gone into the venue...

Re: We need to get the message out more

I believe that pretty many men out there are envying ladies in skirts, especially on a hot sunny summer day, and that only the fact that they cannot see themselves being wearing one, because men don’t wear skirts, keeps them from it. And men don't wear skirts bacause it is regarded weird or unmanly...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

In essence this is old Roman law as the Via Appia used to be a road where men dressed as women were offering themselves. It can be found also in other old law systems for the same reason. Interesting thought considering the Roman soldiers wore togas (i.e. very short miniskirts) most frequently with...

'Low to mid 40s'. We've gone all summer without a 40  . Currently 19° as I write, wearing a knee-length light-weight black A-liner and a pair of sandals.

Och! Ya beat me to it. When asked what I'm wearing under my kilt I usually say "can ye no see ma shoes and socks?" in a broad Scottish accent. Definitely something intended to be worn publicly!

Melbourne visit

Calling all members in or around Melbourne. I have a national council meeting to attend in Melbourne, scheduled for all day Friday 11th May and up to lunchtime Saturday 12th. I'm planning on either travelling from Perth a day earlier, or returning a day later, so I can meet up with friends, rellies,...
