Re: Hello from Belgium!

Why not make it yourself. It is a simple design, you just need a sewing machine, fabric and some hardware.

Re: Summer skirt

And another kilt-look-alike wrap skirt came from the production line.

This time a little longer and made of dark blue twill.

Tomorrow I plan to go to the beach and will take this one and the shorter grey one with me. They are easy-on and easy-off.

No problem. Some things I could find out on my own but YouTube/Internet is also a great help. And reality is a good place to get experience the hard way. ;)

If there are questions, fire away.

Re: Summer skirt

Sadly that link was to amazon.com and the postage costs are exhorbitant. Nil despirandum however a quick search of eBay revealed loaded of suppliers. I’m not clear whether you actually need an installing tool or can you just hit it with a hammer? You push the sharp part through the fabric. With pli...

Re: Here we go again...

...... I'm contemplating adding a "railway station time option" to it to mimic the old-school habit of railway-station bars setting their clocks ahead by five minutes so patrons wouldn't cut things too closely when trying to catch a train. A simple 300-second addition would do the trick.....

Re: Here we go again...

...... It was a cute little thing I found when I was working on the fix for PM management and figured I'd add it to the real Cafe as well. ...... In the good old days in the Netherlands a café (aka bar) would not have a clock. So the customers would not feel pressured to leave the establishment unt...

Re: Here we go again...

I see a clock is added to the forum. A nice old fashioned clock and it looks like it follows the "atomic" time from Colorado. Is it me or is the hour hand slightly off center? A nice homey touch anyway.

Re: Memorial Day

Indeed OS, no politics involved. The more I learned about wars and battles, the more I was drawn to the battle fields and military cemeteries in Europe and we have a lot of those. I visited many places of battle from the Roman times to WW2. That is the least you can do to honor those fallen warriors...

Re: Summer skirt

The jeans buttons are new on me I often wondered how difficult it was to fit them. My skills don’t extend to completely making my own clothes but I often carry out alterations. They will come in useful in the future. This was my source. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VN3T5H8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_a...

Re: Summer skirt

...... Are they buttons or press studs? Those are buttons. The same type as used on jeans. They come as a two part assembly kit, a button and a sharp push pin like object. First you make the button hole, preferably in the right part and at the right spot. You mark the corner of the button hole on t...

Re: Summer skirt

I wonder BL is there any boundary beyond which your multi-talents do not reach? .... The first thing that comes to mind is making music, playing an instrument. Even with MIDI I can not make any progress. My brain can not interpret the notes and steer my fingers. I should have stated as a kid but ju...

Re: Summer skirt

In another thread about the acceptance of skirts by the SO, I said I would try a kilt like model aka a wrap skirt. My wife likes me in kilts but not very much in skirts. After some time in the designing, drafting, cutting and sewing department I could go to the showing department and make some pictu...
