Re: Ladies' tops that are not feminine

I've tried a few and have mixed feelings. ... All in all, wearing women's tops hasn't been nearly as edgy (i.e. interesting) as I expected. When I first started replacing boring men's shirts with women's tops, I tended to favor unfeminine ones. I wasn't yet into skirting. But now I find the girly o...

Re: Skirted London Weekend

Funnily enough though I find it a lot easier to be naked on a beach full of people than I do wearing a skirt but that is changing more each day. Nice comparison. I'm also a naturist, and the first time I was nude in the company of others I was uneasy for about 5 minutes; the first time skirted in p...

Re: To Dress, Or To Overdress?

I never liked fancy dress in standard male clothes -- still don't enjoy wearing coat and tie which I do maybe 2-3 times a year. I never gave much thought to what I wore every day, since it was the usual boring male clothes; I dressed for practicality, from shorts and T shirt to blue jeans, polo shir...

Re: Mr Turk short kilt

It's surprising that those sizes sold out at that very high price. It's somewhat attractive, but way too pricey. I agree that it's presented well on the web page, and any nice depiction of a skirted man is a positive force.

Re: A first for me

It's always so nice when a man, or woman, comes up to me and say "Excuse me,..." and then ask me about my skirt, or share something relating to men in skirts or the overall "look". Sometimes they are curious, sometimes they want to say "you're not alone", sometimes they...

Contains nuts. (Famously seen on the back of a packet of peanuts.) A few years ago, the bags of salted peanuts on Amtrak trains really did say "CAUTION: MAY CONTAIN PEANUTS". The number you have dialed is no longer in service - please check the number and dial again ! In the Boston area i...

Re: What if men in skirts was totally accepted by society?

...I'd of course keep on wearing skirts! If it might seem boring to be "just another man in a skirt", you can do a lot to push the envelope anyway. There are skirts, and then there are skirts. Plain 'ol skirts are great for comfort (etc. etc. etc.), and if skirting becomes commonplace then...

Re: The Issue of Gender and Clothing

Jeff, You say so well a lot of what I feel! Well done. We chisel away at the employers and objecting spouses by continuing to don our skirts and other "women's" attire freely and openly while identifying as the men we are, eventually it may become as commonplace as women who wear trousers....

Re: What Is the Lure of Skirts?

The emotional lure is the joy of wearing something usually considered feminine, to express something about who I am. The practical lure is the superb comfort.

Re: What do your children think ?

My two daughters are 29 and 31 and they are fine with it. I've gone out to the West Coast to visit them with no pants or shorts on me or in my suitcase. My older daughter, talented in such matters, made two Red Sox skirts out of four XXL T-shirts and that, with a T-shirt, is my standard outfit when ...

Re: Floral

Love florals, in the spring and summer but not so much in the fall; and I trend towards pants in the winter. I've gotten several compliments on light, flowy, floral skirts of approximately knee length. They're fun!

This is a sublimation dye print and the random unprinted areas are certainly part of the design. This look was pioneered by OneWorld Apparel of Los Angeles and has been copied by other companies. You can find OneWorld tops, dresses, and yes, skirts, at some higher-end stores such as Dillard's. They ...

Yes, I see you are correct. Still, interesting that leggings make the news.

Re: What made you put on that first skirt.

Have related the tale elsewhere, but to recap: I began wearing women's tops, jeans, and shorts 20 years ago. In 2006, At a naturist gathering, a group of us planned to hike the Appalachian Trail nude on the summer solstice (a tradition). We had to park, then walk to the trail, obviously impossible n...
