I usually stop listening to what is being said and just count the 'likes'.

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

Went to the surgery this morning. Saw the Doc, then had to wait in the waiting room for a blood test. While I was waiting, a guy came in wearing a kilt. As it happened, he then came and sat next to me, so I said "Snap, except I'm wearing a skirt" (knee-length A-line denim). "More comfortable" he rep...

Re: Member of Parliament Suggests Schoolboys Should Wear Ski

I don't think I've been ma'amed lately, but I do remember the time I was standing at the sink in a Walmart bathroom washing my hands. An older man walked in, quickly turned around and walked out, then a few seconds later walked back in.... He thought he entered the wrong room! When he ...

Re: Amtrak Adventure

Going slightly off-off-topic :? , last year the wife and I traveled from Chicago to San Francisco on the Californian Zephyr (we were also due to travel from NY to Chicago by train but there was a freight derailment and sadly we had to fly instead). We had a great time; it was very relaxing and I wor...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

I was in B&Q (big DIY store) today, wearing a just below the knee denim A-line skirt and black knee socks. One of the guys that worked there asked if I was wearing a utility kilt. I told him it was a skirt. He told me that he was Scottish and usually wore a kilt, and that he was going to wear it to ...

A missed opportunity

I was wandering around a motorway service station trying to find a mobile phone signal, when one of the shop assistants asked if I was OK. He was late teens / early twenties and suggested I try outside where the signal might be stronger. I went outside and he followed me then, to my surprise, said "...

Nice to see a reference to contra dance. I always wear a skirt to contras for the reasons mentioned - ventilation and the swirly effect. Plus its more fun than trousers :D

Re: Skirt Wearing by Women Increasing?

There was an uptick of women in skirts this last week in Wells, possibly due to the sunny weather albeit with a nip in the air. But one thing I have noticed is the number of men wearing shorts, even though the weather is a bit on the chilly side. A straw poll in Wells market place this morning: wome...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

I've just finished stage managing a play at our local theatre. At the last night party where the plaudits are handed out, the director gave me a bottle of whiskey because, as he said, I wear a kilt. I've told him several times that I'm not Scottish. What's more, I don't really like whiskey and very,...

Re: Upskirting - Should the gender of the skirt wearer matte

This came up again in the BBC news today. They still touted this as an offence to photograph up a woman's skirt (not a person's skirt which it says in the original bill), with the addition of an amendment to make misogyny a hate crime. No mention of misandry (hatred of men). They interviewed a man w...

Re: Sightings "in the wild"

Mrs C and I went to Salisbury a few weeks ago. We were in a shop and a middle-aged man came up to me and asked if that was a Utilikilt I was wearing (it was an olive Unionkilt), and where did I get it. I put him right and told him the web address. Hopefully we have another convert :D

Re: Blast from the past 1960's skirt for men

I've seen this picture before somewhere. It was way ahead of its time. The name is unfortunate, its too close to 'dork' (a word I picked up from an Australian soap), and the guy should lose the tie - but it does match the skirt. I like the girl in her skirt though :D

Re: Celebrity Big Brother..

As soon as they stick the word "celebrity" in front of a TV title, I lose interest. Generally its people I've never heard of so they can't be that famous. Mrs C and I watched the first few series of "ordinary" Big Brother but after a while found more useful things to do with our lives...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

I've been more or less living in a denim miniskirt (4" above the knee) for the past two months while the weather has been so hot. Today was another sunny day and I had an appointment at the opticians. I saw no reason not to wear the mini, so I did. I'd been wearing it with a polo shirt on the outsid...

Thank you crfriend, it's so pleasant to come to a site with no advertising. I even indulged in the luxury of turning off Adblock for SkirtCafe.
