Re: Happy 40th Birthday Moonshadow!!
Here's what my sister got for me on my birthday... https://youtu.be/E-wZ8ifon4M And an absolutely capital piece of music to test it out with! I've got a 1970 pressing of Leopold Stowkowski and the Royal Philharmonic playing that, and that right up until today remains my go-to favourite performance....

Re: Killed for wearing a dress
There's a reason why there is no editorial stance here on how photographs are composed/framed/altered -- and that's to keep everyone's personal comfort-level where it needs to be. And I'm not about to change that stance, because I see no compelling need to. To each his own. Finis. Personally, I like...

Re: First white Christmas
It is SO QUIET outside... with the snow, there is nobody on the highway below, no cars running, no music playing... not even the kids are out yet... all you hear is the wind howling over the mountain ridges.... I've never heard anything like it before... It is rather magical, is it not? Here, like ...

Re: First white Christmas
Yes, in my 39 Christmases on this planet, I can't remember a single "white Christmas". A few close ones... but no cigar. But looks like 2020 has delivered.... Well, perhaps 2020 is good for something after all... Up here in the "frozen north" it's pouring rain and we're under a flood watch. It's sh...

Re: Killed for wearing a dress
I'm with Moon on this one as well. If we passively allow others to rule us we willingly give up basic human rights, and folks have given their lives in the past that we might have those rights today. I am not saying, "Throw caution to the wind", but rather to use prudence and to choose one's battles...

Re: Does wearing a mask make it easier?
Wearing a face-mask is something done out of altruism. We all know that it's not something we do for "ME", but rather for those around us. Hopefully those around us are as courteous as we should be. I was hesitant to take the mask advice up because of overly-cautious guidance given to a child in a h...

Re: Update on my Wife
Adding insult to injury, the hospital staff booted Al from the premises, giving him a COVID test in the process telling him, "you'll get the results by mail" (and the implicit one of, "don't come back until the test results do."). Given the time of year, and the state of the USPS, he's not going to ...

Re: Gaslighting
You mean like what happened in 2008 when the Democratic party drug its feet for two years "working on" drafting a real Healthcare plan, all the while the GOP went to work spreading a bunch of lies and fear mongering that won them back control of congress in 2010 resulting in the "A.C.A."...? Yes, I...

Re: Gaslighting
The point being Dave, is can Democrats get what they want shoved through a Republican Senate? The answer likely "no". Trump's party likes the health-"care" industry just the way it is. Wouldn't it make my point rather handily if a "Democratic"-controlled government "failed" to fix the health-care s...
