Re: What a Stalin Quote About Rigging Elections Reveals About the 2020 Election

I don't like playing Monday morning quarterback, but there is one incident that no one seems to be recognizing. This is the incident involving the lady that was shot. I have scoured through numerous videos and articles concerning the shooting. Nothing mentions the lady being armed or threatening in...

Re: What a Stalin Quote About Rigging Elections Reveals About the 2020 Election

[0] Impeachment would bar him from public office, like forever. In a strictly legal sense, it wouldn't. All the impeachment process does is refer the subject to trial in the other chamber of the legislature, and recall that The Donald has already been successfully impeached once (by a vote of the H...

Re: "What was up with those giant Victorian skirts?"

Anyway, back to the big skirts. Yes, they look amazing but I can imagine the impracticalities of wearing them. I couldn't do it. I'd destroy everything within 10 feet of me wearing one. So no matter how good they look I just can't see in my mind's eye me wearing one. Watching films such as "The Kin...

Brad, your comment gives me a complete about face. Thank you for posting it... perhaps there is hope and good conservatives left after all. Thank you again. *high five!* This, and Brad's comment showcase two reasons why I like this place enough to stick around. Two souls -- both wounded by the happ...

Re: What a Stalin Quote About Rigging Elections Reveals About the 2020 Election

Carl, good comment made about the restraint shown by the police / guards. That was indeed impressive. I do not watch, nor study, things for the "shock and awe" value. I'm studying carefully and looking for the big picture and not just on the screen. I'm looking for subtexts and context. Whilst the ...

Re: What a Stalin Quote About Rigging Elections Reveals About the 2020 Election

I'm not trigger happy, but recall the word was "loot". My comment was more about the times when you're not actively in control -- you're passive in your own place much of the time, and an intruder has the advantage of surprise. This also says nothing about when you're asleep or out of the house. Ju...

Re: What a Stalin Quote About Rigging Elections Reveals About the 2020 Election

But starting today I'm also keeping a firearm beside my bed. I am after all, surrounded by His cult... a warning is tendered, in the words of their God... " you loot, I shoot! " That, my friend, is a dangerous path, and I'd counsel caution before embarking on it. Contemplate your actions carefully....

Re: Items on eBay

Has everything going for it (linen, flare, colour) except for the top of the bodice that looks like eyes popping out. I kind of like it, although would not be able to wear it myself because I have nothing up top to fill it with. What's wrong with a little bit of whimsy in life? I think we need more...

[... W]hich Rosetta Stone should I purchase? Russian or Chinese? I'd like to be ready for when one or the other takes over everything... Given that the USA and Russia are largely one and the same, I'd say the safe money is on the Chinese version. The Celestial Empire re-emergent. Technological. Spa...

Re: Does wearing a mask make it easier?

On furlough I will get 80% of the minimum so 12.8 hours. So do I get 13 hours and stay at home or 16 and go into work. For the extra 3 hours I don't think that the risk is worth it. I don't need the money so I think that the decision is a no-brainer and furlough it will be. I believe you're making ...

Re: "What was up with those giant Victorian skirts?"

Holy cow Carl, 160 seems pretty light weight for a man of your height. I realize I'm a tad overweight (pushing 195 +/-) for my height (5'11"). My doctor would like to see me down to around your weight... maybe 175ish.... I'm not particularly happy about it. My frame can very easily carry 200 pounds...

A huge part of this money will be going to other countries to bulk up their economies.
Follow the money. Where's it going to be spent? On arms? What country on the face of the globe is the number one arms supplier?

There's more to this than meets the eye.

Re: "What was up with those giant Victorian skirts?"

"What was up with those giant Victorian skirts?" The huge ones are generally from the early Victorian period of the 1850s and 1860s. Later skirts were more trim, but tended to have bustles. So we can't confuse the time-frames. My question is, who here is daring enough to don one in public? *glances...
