Re: Story from Spain

"Clothes have no gender" is a great slogan! Indeed, it is high time that the notion of gender-specific apparel be dealt its last blow -- and may that blow be mortal to the notion. There is precisely no logic whatsoever to the idea that clothing should be reserved for one sex/gender or the other. "W...

Once that's all taken care of, don't hang about, just forget about it...AND GET ON OUT THERE! x
This is generally good advice for virtually low-risk operations, and certainly swapping trousers for a kilt or skirt is, in most cases, low-risk.

The fact is that women have themselves to thank for their wider choices and now it is time for men to grab a piece of the same action.
It can only lie in our own hands nobody will give it on a plate.
Indeed, we can take this as gospel.

Eyes on the prize, and aim for greatness.

Re: Interesting perspective

No, I am not going to give them blanket access to my hard-drives and GPS kit just to read an article so they can push even more adverts at me. I get enough of that already every damned waking minute. I know you like your old hardware, but even on a positively modern (2009) machine like mine it is v...

Re: Mens Suiting Is Drab

"no white before (US) Memorial Day" dictum. I had never even heard of this little gem. I wonder how it was originally justified so as to become so embedded? Certainly kicks absurdity up to a whole new level and fashion is full of it too. I'm not entirely sure of its origin, but might well surmise i...

Re: Mens Suiting Is Drab

I'll also say - I don't think it matters what women wear, they will always look better/put together than men, at least to me. Then again, we are our worst judge: The truth is that from the get go. boys are brainwashed into believing this as inalienable fact. I'm with Stevie on this one, and just to...

Re: Covid 19

So... dumb question here Carl, There is no such thing as a dumb question -- only the bad result of a question never asked that needed to be. Did you wear a skirt for your jab appointment? Better -- I wore my mini-dress. It's precisely the only garment I own that has short sleeves to it. Both times,...

Re: Covid 19

Car;, which vaccine was it? My wife and I had the Oxford/Astra Zeneca one and we never felt a thing! Neither the jab itself or any symptoms/side effects apart from the purple hair growing on the backs of our hands and arms. 'Twas the Moderna. The side-effects fell into line with some of the o...

I was out and about today and even got a compliment. "Quite dashing and handsome too". Unfortunately from an old acquaintance who is a cheeky chappy and not an eligible lady alas!
Doesn't that often seem to be the case, although it's usually from a lass who's "already taken".

Re: Covid 19

Well, last Friday came and went, and at the appointed time I received my second SARS-CoV-2 jab. I'd been warned by the chap who administered it, "If you have plans for tomorrow, consider having a backup." He was right. Friday passed without incident, but I awoke on Saturday with a fever of 101.3 and...

Re: Covid 19

The most interesting part is that 3 investigators sent to China by the WHO were earlier involved with experiments on virusses and worked thereon also in Wuhan. So how neutral were they? Yes, and there were repeated allegations of "researchers" from some of the New England "institutions of higher le...

Re: East coast fuel shortage

There are other ways of producing hydrogen. There was a design put together on paper (never built) for a nuclear power plant that would use chemical reactions and the heat from the reactor to produce hydrogen directly without using electrolysis. I believe it was designed at Westinghouse... Given th...

Re: East coast fuel shortage

There has been misgivings about all new technologies. Thank you for that one Anthony. It gave me a much-needed laugh. Oh well..... maybe hydrogen .......... what possibly could go wrong. Hydrogen is good, but expensive to make by electrolysing water and even though it's the single most abundant ele...

Re: Covid 19

There have been some concerns raised over false positives - the more times you run a sample through a pcr test, the greater likelihood you will be detecting covid from the reference sample and not the collected specimen. This is not exactly news. False positives are part of the statistical noise th...
