Re: Clothing envy - does it dissipate?

Thanks for all the responses and different takes on this! Sorry, I have issues with anger, I am upset I am held at arms length, whereas I think we should welcome all people, genders, walks of life wether mental health issues, trans or otherwise, some may be keen to join but if they percieve an unwe...

Sorry, I have issues with anger, I am upset I am held at arms length, whereas I think we should welcome all people, genders, walks of life wether mental health issues, trans or otherwise, some may be keen to join but if they percieve an unwelcoming atmosphere, may hold back. I did want to change my ...

Re: Clothing envy - does it dissipate?

(I'm envious of not having an Edit button on my account if there's any typos, but hopefully that can be changed in time. I would also like to go back to being Kilty as I'm not so New To Skirts anymore :blue:  ) At the top of the post are several "Buttons", one being a pencil. That's your edit...

Re: Clothing envy - does it dissipate?

It was the option of girls being able to wear either a skirt or trousers, though my sisters had issues with tights and ladders, arguments over dresses and who's borrowed what... and I thought I'd be condemned to a life of dull clothes. I even envied Scotsmen and their kilts - a legitimate skirt for ...

Re: So I'll be wearing a dress for a week in summer

At an event I'm going to in the summer, I've agreed to wear a really cheap cosplay from Amazon as a joke, it's pretty much just a dress, it's too cheap for anything extra. But this leaves me with a couple questions. How am I meant to carry anything? And my parents are going to find out eventually a...

Re: Wearing high heels

I see too many women in heels walking like a newborn wildebeest that's staggered to it's feet after birth, and fear I'd walk the same  I also don't want to bust my ankle - as UK streets are notoriously uneven. Taking a drop and having the contents of my handbag spill onto the pavement (sid...

Re: Wearing high heels

You could get a pump with a block heel. They are quite trendy at the moment too! The main upside to the stiletto heels is that your shoe is so light on your feet, and if you wear heels all the time you learn that the stiletto heel style (without platforms) are nicest to wear in a lot of real-situat...

Re: Wearing high heels

Hi new2skirts, I think go bare with sandals. Sandals in my opinion - and peep toes should be worn with bare legs. I also think a pair of beige/ivory/sandy brown coloured pumps would look awesome on your legs there.... cheers NZF Thanks for the advice, NZ! The only issue is pumps with a tiny heel is...

Re: Wearing high heels

Mostly heeled boots, but I did buy my first pair of heeled strappy shoes... Was thinking of my Tweed skirt with a beige top bs1.jpg bs2.jpg but thought the tights didn't go, so am taking a leaf out of Mark's book with a smart shirt gs1.jpg gs2.jpg and matching grey skirt instead. Not sure if tights ...

You look very smart. The skirt is a nice contrast with the black tights and boots

Re: mens london fashion week

That's a nice skirt! Too small for me, I wear a size 16. I saw this in a 16 s-l1600.jpg https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Miss-Candyfloss-Nicky-Lee-Denim-Midi-Pencil-Skirt-XL-UK-14-16-Brand-New/133039772338?hash=item1ef9c9d2b2:g:Pd8AAOSwwqVcConN Which might suit you. £30 is hardly breaking the bank, same ...

Re: What do you wear on your legs with skirts

I wear nothing on my legs when it's warm. When it's cold I wear long socks or leg warmers. I just got my first cheap garter belt to see if I like it to hold up the socks. I wear such unmentionables more in the summer, with lace unmentionables for a little more comfort as it's cooler. They can be fi...

Re: The worm has turned

Why not just take advantage of the freedom provided by the skirt/kilt and sit to urinate? We don't have a problem when we need to empty our bowels, so why do we have a problem when we empty our bladders? Or is it a case of "that's what women do and it would be demeaning of a man to do the same"? No...

Re: mens london fashion week

Agree with you on denim skirts, I have a few denim maxis that I wear and are gorgeous. And they were cheap! The price levels for anything offered to men will need to drop to sane levels. However, the better option would be for all skirts to start being marketed as unisex, which of course is what th...

Re: mens london fashion week

Lots of skirts and dresses for men at LMFW 2020 I see which is good. The question is when it will start to filter down to the high street? I get the feeling it's going to take one or two big celebrities to help break the mould. Interestingly, there was an article in the Guardian the other day aroun...
