Re: Why we wear skirts and how does it feel?

Agree with everything that has been said so far. Skirts are awesome to wear with how they look and feel. Until I started to openly wear skirts (and heels) in public, I felt like a 2nd class citizen as I would see women openly expressing themselves freely through their clothes and nobody would dare ...

Re: Hive Life / He Who Wears Skirts

Not bad, just a shame it was one outfit, and the rest were wacky shorts or trousers  but it's a start. As he said, it's a unique identity, I guess like how actors embrace flamboyance as part of their brand :)

The article is blocked, I think by a Paywall. It would be great to read it, unless it's from being on the other side of the Pond... Does this work? Or is it still blocked: https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/2019/10/22/doctoral-student-wore-skirt-made-rejection-letters-defend-her-dissert...

Re: Strange and unusual skirts

Awful. I can't see it selling well. What's the point? Sometimes I think fashion aims for just a shock factor. ....after you recover from the shock of the price  even the pencil skirts have such high slits I felt uncomfortable even looking at them. Only a real exhibitionist would wear this st...

Re: starter skirts

Legless shorts... just denim pencil skirts with eye watering price tag, zip that does up on men's side, and you're done :) I have seen guys in the wild just wearing a denim skirt when the temperatures soar, so a few must have tried it 8) I suspect that most guys would pass on pencils almost immedia...

Re: starter skirts

Probably best to simplify things so purchase is easy. One thing-make a design that doesn't require accessories beyond what the average male has already. I agree. Just tag them with sizes guys know and put them in the men's section. A few men will buy them the first season. The next season a few wil...

Re: Techniques you've used to get more men into wearing skirts

The problem is conditioning. Men have been discouraged from being "girly" from a young age, either being told not to cry if they get hurt, or by insults from classmates "you throw like a girl" etc... so anything, save for kilts which are super expensive - although kilts hold the mystery of if the we...

Mostly stockings or hold ups. Sometimes I just throw a pair of tights on, though I hate the "tights dance" when nature calls.

I do shave my legs, even in winter so when it's warmer it's great to go without

Re: Bride gets to grips with skirt-wearing man

It was a bit of zany fun and I am glad she saw it as such - or at least I think she did. The writer didn't need to turn it into an ideological point and I hope that wasn't what she was hoping to achieve. I don't want to sound cynical, but I am always suspicious when The Guardian prints stuff like t...

Re: Skirt Wearing by Women Increasing?

I think it also depends on corporate environments. Women may wear skirts as part of dress code so in certain areas, you will see lots of women in skirts. In more relaxed companies, it may be more smart casual A line mini's, or mostly jeans being worn. I still see a lot of skirts in the shops, loads ...

Re: comments by nzfreestyler

On another forum womens reactions to kilted men were described as-women either love it, or hate it. As for women loving it, the explanation I got is that the kilted man is assumed to have a very high level of self confidence. That is,a high level of self confidence is signaled by his break from con...
