Re: Rompers

No, Gusto10, it does not. With all respect, you are jumping to conclusions. What store you buy your skirts in does not say anything about you, or about anybody else who shops at that store. I have not bought from Privatina, but I assure you they have a diverse clientele. I do not identify as "adult ...

Re: ROMPERS

I had these back in the 1970s. They were never called "rompers" then. They were a short-arm, short-leg version of jumpsuits, made and sold by the makers of regular jumpsuits. One of my favorites was towel-like terrycloth, with a clasp belt, just like the James Bond picture above. Another version was...

Re: I had no idea about this men's skirt form Guatemala

(A quote from the original NYT article:) "The players explained to me that the coxtar (the skirt), the kutin (the shirt) and the pas (the sash) have meanings associated with the ancestral Mayan worldview." I haven't seen this before, but it looks a lot like the traditional field hockey skirt. You ca...

Re: Skirt Fails

That looks to me like the broadfall trousers worn by Amish men.
They don't use zippers, so they have this arrangement of buttons.

Re: Camouflage skirt

Camouflage it isn't. But it is "military" so I maybe can sneak it into this thread. This looks like a skirt I would gladly wear. The right length, pockets, belt loops, etc., and I like the color. http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/bluebeat/item/orslow-00-4223-16/ However, I would not pay $123.00 (pl...

Re: Camouflage skirt

Another positive is that it is not really a military camouflage.
It is a woodland print, like an oak forest. Nature Boy likes that.
At first glance the skirt looks like standard issue camouflage,
and it would probably serve that purpose.

Re: Camouflage skirt

As one who is always looking for a good camouflage skirt, I came across this in an unlikely place. http://www.modestapparelusa.com/camouflage/camouflage-skirt-2154.html It has pockets and belt loops. It looks as if it has a front zip, but I can't tell for sure. It appears to be a few inches too long...

Re: Grocery Shopping

At Safeway today, the female grocery checker asked me, "Are you wearing a kilt?" I collected my thoughts for a second or two and replied, "No, it's actually a unisex skirt. It works real good for both men and women." She seemed pleased and satisfied and that ended it. For the record, it was my camou...

Re: T-shirt Dress that could easily work on men

Tee-PJs, made by Wittmann Textiles.
They have different lengths for different folks, and many colors.
Completely unisex, as far as I can tell. I haven't tried them, but
I have seen them advertised for many decades.

Re: Foustaphobia

Directly related to fustanella.
That's the pleated skirt worn in Greece by Evzones.

Re: Grocery Shopping

My first time out in public, I went to an upscale market at 7:00 in the morning to buy bagels. The second time out was in late afternoon to Trader Joe's. The third time was a coffee shop where I read and worked for an hour or two. Then it was the library, the hardware store, the post office, a Chine...

Re: Micro brewer in a utilikilt

Great! I'll make a special trip to Hackettstown, New Jersey to visit this place. One of my favorite places to hang out is The Growler Guys, which is both a tap room and growler refill station (with 60 brews on tap) and a very good coffee house. The people there are all totally cool, I wear whatever ...

Corduroy skirt

Any corduroy skirts out there? I don't own any, but would like to try something like this. http://www.dressedupgirl.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Gray-Corduroy-Skirt.jpg Conventional cut and fit, knee-length, pockets and belt loops, serviceable and durable- looking. But I would like other colors th...
