It is the schools photobucket account.

Re: Articles about books about gender non-conforming childre

There are several clues (such as the olive-and-yellow bridge in the background, and the block walls around the back yards) that suggest this photo was taken in Phoenix, Arizona, or possibly some other southwestern city. And the plaid pleated skirts are commonly used as school uniforms, especially i...

Re: Has anyonoe tried this kilt?

The Scottish Kilt Shop is nothing more than Woodtex kilts. I have three from them and 2 are poor quality due to the fact that they use the wrong needles to sew them. After 2 washings, they started to fray near the stitching. That is a good indication that they used a sharp needle rather than a ballp...

Re: Dress Code Problems

One of the waitresses at a restaurant I worked at knew I like to wear dresses and wanted to see me in one so I went there for dinner one evening. As my luck would have it, one of the owners brought his family in for dinner that night. I was politely asked to refrain from doing it again on the groun...

Re: Sizes?

Plus size women's generally start at 16 and have a prefix of a W in front i.e. W18; but each manufactured uses a VANITY system for sizing and numbers. A sizing used for small frame misses is called Petites - the waist is pretty much the same but the overall dimensions i.e. length of the garment wil...

Re: Dress Code Problems

If my understanding of this is correct then an American man has the legal right to wear a skirt to work without fear of disciplinary action whereas a British man doesn't. Not necessarily... While yes it is true that unless the employee handbook specifically states otherwise, a male could wear a ski...

Re: Sizing frustration

I received my newly purchased utilikilt from the Geoffrey company, through e-bay, and was disappointed to discover that it was too small. I have a "34 waist for trousers, and have used that size to good effect before. My last purchase from UTKilts was a "34, but it felt a bit snug, so I t...

Re: pleats?

Although I started this thread, I cannot understand at all the posts that have been added. They seem very vehement, as if I had said something annoying, but I've no idea what you are trying to tell me. I mentioned Allen's kilt-making merely as a starting point for my own feeling about the excessive...

Re: pleats?

I know that well-made pleats look great in a kilt, but they are a bother to make, so are they really necessary? They are fine for marching in a pipe band, or just walking or hiking, but, these days, most of us spend more time sitting down than standing or moving, and the pleats have to be carefully...

Re: A little help shopping?

My tastes in my desired skirts to buy has been refining, for want of a better word.. I like this item http://www.freemans.com/products/cheer-pleated-denim-skirt/_/A-701977_14 but it's too short for me. and despite searches, I can't find anything similarly styled, but longer, that I like. if anyone ...

Re: The "crazy" Russian in dresses and skirts

I applaud him for standing up for himself. However he brought this on himself. I have to agree that his choices seem feminine though that might be all that is available in his area of the country. Common sense should have told him that he would have a rough time in a femme skirt. Soviets aren't as f...

Re: Sightings "in the wild"

Upstate NY...Halfway between NYC and Buffalo.

In all of my travels anywhere, I have never seen another man in a skirt. I have seen only one other man in a kilt and that was about 2 years ago.

Re: Sightings "in the wild"

I was heading out of town yesterday for a medical appointment when I noticed a man walking down the sidewalk. When we got closer he was wearing a red knee length skirt. This is the first time I have seen another man in this area wearing one.

New ActiKilt

Well that is what I am calling it. It took me two weeks to make after I came up with a wicked idea for it when I saw the fabric. It cost me a whopping $11 in material and about 15 hours of labor. Some of my inspiration was Kirbstones denim skirt. The material is the mesh sports type of fabric. I do ...

Re: A personal issue with tights.

I can see both sides of the coin, so to speak....... I have to wear thigh high medical hosiery for moderate edema that builds when I am sleeping. I hate the things but they do their job well and I do like that I can see I do have knees and ankles. I shave my legs because the hair was getting irritat...
