Re: What floats your boat for hobbies ...

My hobbies have changed as my knees have aged, one of the pleasures of being overweight I suppose. I used to love sailing, I used to like off-road driving, I have always spent a lot of time playing with, tweaking and building computers. I love music, I am always listening, I dabble with sound engine...

Re: Dresses?

Nope, dresses and night shirts are not my thing. Same with pyjamas. I got frustrated years (and years and years) ago with feeling all tied up in bed. If it's a cold night (which in QLD we won't have again until at least mid April) I pull over the thin summer weight doona... My first cat used to kee...

Re: Dresses?

So , I'm a part time kiltie but funnily enough I spend a lot of time in a 'dress' if the truth be told and ironically I've never had when occasionally my neighbours have seen me . It's kind of weird I've never really thought of it til recently . I have never owned a pair of pyjamas in my life . I'v...

Re: Kilt length - advice requested

So socks pulled way up is something that looks good to most here? Sure, warmth is important. I guess when I wear my kilt, unless I’m going out formally, I’m not a big sock pulled all the way up kind of guy. But the knee length sicks reflects the kilt like feeling. I wore a kilt the other day with s...

Re: Hi all fellow skirt wearers

Thanks Tom, sounds really good! we were discussing another trip on the Broads on our last Skype session- We used to call these sessions our virtual pub nights, however that was before I knew what state my liver is in, now they drink and I drink water until I get bored, not quite the same! I will sug...

Re: Kilt length - advice requested

So socks pulled way up is something that looks good to most here? In my case, socks pulled up is for warmth when the weather is bad, either that or I wear long skirts. In good weather and when I don't need the warmth I am happy for socks to leave my legs alone and dedicate themselves to ankle laggi...

Re: Hi all fellow skirt wearers

Hmmm, Ireland and watery bits, there's a thought!. This year due to one of our regulars getting a knee welded in May, it looks like we will be down to a crew of three for our annual boat trip, not really enough for canals in our decrepit states! Is there scope for a weeks cruise in Ireland that does...

Re: A Lap Full

Hi Pelmut, Perhaps my syntax was misleading. At the 'cottage' we had a tenant who fed the resident tomcat down there until he left last year. The place stood empty for several months during which I went down daily and cuddled & fed the cat. Just as our granddaughter was preparing to move in the...

Re: Hi all fellow skirt wearers

Hi there, Welcome!
I am in the West of Scotland, just retiring over the break. I have never visited Ireland however I fancy the idea of a visit to Ireland sometime next year! Maybe a chance for a meet, you never know!

Re: A Lap Full

Nice pic. B&B. Living out in the country three miles from the nearest corner shop and with low-lifes cruising by every day we have our 'security staff' of five dogs, three of them big so in 22 years here we haven't had an unwanted visit. This makes it more difficult for our remaining three cats...

Re: A Lap Full

Three, many photos of them on Facebook and videos on youtube, I don't think I could afford to feed more than that! My three are all the same family and get on with each other, often curling up together, grooming each other etc. Oh great!, Gangdalf has invaded my lap again, just as I need to get up a...

Re: Discoveries when you started wearing skirts

Long skirts are also great places for cats to curl up in your lap. They act like kitty-hammocks. My cats love my long skirts, when I am sitting at my PC there is often one curled up under the skirt. Other than that they love to curl up on my knees and as you say a skirt helps! Nightshirts as well, ...

Looks really good and practical, pity it is only made for tiny people, I might have lost loads of weight but I will never be small enough to get one of those on!

Re: Kilt length - advice requested

Possibly consider - FLASHES - those elastic bands with a touch of velcro or metal clasp to anchor the closing - if the flashes are not sewn or attached to the elastic band remove them and fold the top of the sox down over the band - otherwise just wear the flashes extra even if not matching the tar...
