I've tried thigh high tights to get the advantage of the freedom under the kilt and warmer legs. I couldn't get them to stay up because I don't want to shave my legs. So, I tried using cheap woman's suspenders, but they were uncomfortable to say the least. So, I'm wearing longer socks. Does the job.

There seems to be a definite line drawn between "casual" skirts and dresses compared to wearing kilts. I get curious looks and whispered comments when I go out with a kilt (with even nude stockings). But a normal dress draws a lot of attention and even deliberately loud enough comments ref...

I prefer thicker tights because I don't want to shave my legs. It's a hassle because I like to get into the shower, lather and rinse and get out. My head is shaven. So, I'm in and out in three minutes.
