Re: Skirts on the F1 Grid?

Carl, I see where pelmut and you are coming from on the NOX issue. Logical. But surely if you are pulling in more N2 than O2, with an excess of H2 you would get a mixture of H2O and NH compounds, NH3, ammonia being probably the main one of them. There being insufficient O2 for HNO compounds and the...

Re: Skirts on the F1 Grid?

Okay, I don't understand that, how does burning hydrogen produce NOX? burning is oxidisation, hydrogen plus oxygen = water. What am I missing? I know that producing or splitting the hydrogen takes energy, but I hadn't heard of NOX being a side effect. The oxides of Nitrogen are a side effect of the...

Re: LA Times article on men’s skirts

As for the word "beautiful", it can apply to clothing, of course. But we generally see beautiful clothing only on women. And increasingly less frequently! But skirts give men a chance to try on garments that are elegant, far more so than any trousers. :!: Hear, hear! The first time I was called "be...

Nothing against the shorter stuff... but the longer cuts just seem to have so much grace.
That's why I like 'em so much!

Mostly unvaccinated people from the Biblebelt. They don't want the vaccin, they don't trust the government
I thought you were in the Netherlands, not the USA. What you describe sounds like what we have where I live. :(

Re: hello old friends

Carl, I'm not sure I'd want to be on either end of that ball's trajectory! Amazing bit of engineering -- they got the pitching end covered -- what are you gonna put up for the batter? It may require some rule changes for the home run! I'd not want to be, either! It's impressive to be sure -- and it...

The trouble is that once a cat has setted down on your lap, you are incapussitated until it decides to move.
There's a reason why I like the company of this cast of characters!

Re: New family member

There were 4 [cats] on the bed the other night which disturbed my sleep. I had a lousy night and I have put my foot down to only have 2 cats in the bedroom. I would prefer none but it's a compromise of sorts. The number of cats on the bed is usually an inverse function of the temperature. The colde...

Hey Moon, your typo gave me a smile -- I can just see Carl, Casey Jones style armed with his bat taking on the world!
The problem is is that I'd be trying to hit this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqidD7kVnxY

And I'm not even of Cuban descent...

Reminds me of Truman Capote's "That's not writing, that's typing" or Dorothy Parker's "... the gamut of emotions from A to B".
"A to B." -- "Aardvark to Byzantine." There's plenty of room in there for expression. 'Tis a good crack, though.

I'm vaccinated twice with Pfizer, and the Dutch government decided that the 1,5 meter distance rule was abanded, so did the face mask rule. The result: An increase in hospital numbers.
Amongst the vaccinated population or the unvaccinated population?

Re: Corona Virus

Our state government has said yesterday that basically once we reach a target percentage of the population fully vaxed, that if you won't look after yourself, then the government will not be in a position to help you. There's the choice. Pretty straightforward right there. I wish the various govern...

Re: INDIE: Will 2018 Finally be the Year for Men and Skirts?

https://indie-mag.com/2018/01/fashion-men-in-skirts/ An old article, and the (unfortunate) obvious answer ended up being "No". But figured it couldn't hurt to link to it. At this point in time I rather suspect we're going to need to see cataclysmic societal changes in the West before this notion ev...
