Re: Skirts, Pants, and Deuteronomy 22:5
The body is gone, when the "person" (spirit) acends to heaven, how is gender determined? The gender of the spirit, or soul? I would suspect it would track, fairly closely, what the person was (in corporeal form) before dying. Thus, it would be an aggregation of traits in varying intensiti...

Re: Skirts, Pants, and Deuteronomy 22:5
Toxic masculinity definitely does exist and is how the patriarchy enforces control over men and women. Once again, guys, let's refrain from using hate-speech in this context, because we are doing ourselves no favours whatsoever in offering live ammunition to the enemy. In no way, shape, or form is ...
Re: back pain
Most tall people get lumbar pain sooner or later. I can precis my personal journey there and back: Tell me about it. My initial lower back injury was in 1998 when I was moving out of my ever-increasingly-expensive apartment and in with my now-late ex- and was hoisting a large television from a tigh...

Re: What have you discovered through wearing skirts and dresses?
I read an article some time ago in which the author asserted that women view men in skirts and dresses as less threatening than men dressed in traditional attire. Your observation is the only firsthand verification that I have come across. I pretty much accepted the author's theory since I wasn't i...

Re: The boundary between skirt wearer and TV
Crossdressing is wearing something because it is intended for the opposite sex - it is an identifier and an intentional signal that the wearer wishes to be associated with the opposite sex. In the purest sense, that's correct, but in practise the term is used as a cudgel to beat on men. Women are e...

Re: The boundary between skirt wearer and TV
Since most of us wear skirts, we are crossdressers. When women wear men's items, they are also crossdressers. Except that culturally women are not , and that's where the logic breaks down. Women can wear any damn thing they want and nobody bats an eyelash. But heaven forbid a man don a skirt. Men a...

Re: A beautiful skirt
The skirt has a lot of volume. The top layer is fairly stiff with a lot of fabric. Add in the mesh in-between layer and and you have something fit for the sound of music. That was part of the Laura Ashley aesthetic -- the fact that they're rather clearly from another time, but brought forward to th...

Re: Skirts in Schools - No hope for boys
What exactly are they afraid of? Change This, precisely. Nothing terrifies a reactionary any more than change. The sad thing is that in the 40 years they've held power they've transformed the world into a sad, sad parody of what it once was -- and it hasn't really furthered their aims. They're just...

That's going to get rid of the original silhouette of the skirt by decreasing the volume of it.Barleymower wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 1:25 pmHeavens no Coder! I would never do away with the built in slip. I got rid of the tulle net between the top layer and slip.

Re: Skirts in Schools - No hope for boys
A transitioning child is in general required to adhere to the same school uniform as other children of their biological sex. In practice, many schools offer flexibility regarding uniforms with trousers being available to each biological sex. I've emphasised the operative word in the above for clari...

Re: Skirts, Pants, and Deuteronomy 22:5
Like anything else, class and status have a bearing on things. The wealthier would be wearing robes, and the plebes would have had tunics which are simpler (and cheaper) to make, and there were subtle differences between men's and women's attire. Recall that there was no mass production at the time....

Re: Skirts, Pants, and Deuteronomy 22:5
How the heck was that piece of dross dredged up? About the only good thing one can say about Deuteronomy is that if you live in a First World nation you probably wont have that idiotic meme thrown in your face very often. However, if you happen to live in a Third World hole you'll get it quite often...

Here in America these diversity programs are under attack and being written off as no longer necessary. By this I hope the professor, he will be able use it showing how important these diversity programs are. Hoping that this diversity programs will draw news coverage about MIS, suicide prevention ...

Re: would you wear these sci-fi unisex dresses?
Actually, I might well not save for extremely casual times. Just not "dressy" enough for me I suppose. I prefer more formal looks.
