Re: Red pleated skirt... that inspires a kilt

I've always wondered if there should be a point in the middle at the back where the pleat change direction, but I don't think anyone actually bothers with that. I do, so the pleats point backwards on both sides. It makes putting side seam pockets on both sides very straightforward, as they go into ...

Re: Here we go - AGAIN !

We had a very big campaign in Sweden in the 70-80; write as you speak. To get people to write in dialect to try and save them. I try to write properly, but I do have dyslexia so there might be some small errors that sneak through. Although English is my mother tounge, I did'nt start speaking Swedish...

Re: Red pleated skirt... that inspires a kilt

Thank you very much for sharing! I think it looks good, just needs a good ironing I think to get done of the wrinkles out(they are probably not as pronounced in real as they are on the photos anyway). I like the way the hem looks, angling up in the front and those small(3cm?) pleats look really nice...

Re: would you wear these sci-fi unisex dresses?

Or why one one will bat an eye seeing a guy in a bathrobe getting the mail in the morning, but a dress or nightgown that covers just as much...

Re: Skirts in Schools - No hope for boys

I think having the uniform especially as there seems to be no shorts, might make more boys want to wear a skirt, if allowed. I quite like the idea. In Sweden there is no dress code for kids in school, which means boys don't wear anything other than trousers or shorts, as do most girls for that matte...

Re: Sebs sweatshop

Good good! So today was the last day of my "weekend", got four shifts the coming days so I'll have to save the details for next week. Got to seams to finish and I need to add buttons(and learn how to do buttonholes... yikes) and tack down the inside of the collar so it wont turn out but it...

Re: would you wear these sci-fi unisex dresses?

I seem to recall star trek trying putting male crew members(in the background) in skirts or dresses at one point, but it did'nt fall out well. A little ahead of its time perhaps.

Re: Sebs sweatshop

Mouse: Yeah, sleeves are tricky and finicky, its just hard to get that cylinder shape around correctly in my head. I think these turned out okay, but the shoulder seam is a little short so they start a little higher up than intended - lets call it a feature. :) They are comfortable and provide good ...

Re: Guilt

Ironicly I think most of the differences stem from how we raise our kids - boys are allowed to be wilder and rowdier while we tell girls of for the same things "is just the way boys are". Just like we tell our boys what to wear, "boys dont wear that" but girls seem to get away wi...

Re: Sebs sweatshop

I did some more work today, got the sleeves done, opted for short ones. I also cut the epaulettes from the design, the shoulder width turned out a little less than expected and I think it works have looked crowded. Then I cut peices for the skirt, pockets and belt loops, hopefully I can get that ass...

Re: Mouse making something....

Yeah, Im in agreement, although most clothes are sewn, there are other perfectly valid ways to make clothes, like knitting, crocheting, glue and just cutting peices out. Or melting, bending, riveting togheter peices :) I would hazard a guess that your making another latex circle skirt? Shorter than ...

Re: Weather in your location ?

Last Monday we had 11°c, sun and no wind - t-shirt weather and I took down five small trees(still have another 8 that needs to come down) and washed the car. Today I woke up to this: IMG_20240405_092321-01.jpeg Just as all of the last snow had melted away. I doubt it will stick longer than the weeke...

Re: Pretty Skirts?

Which is also a bit funny, because when we talk about our pets, they can be pretty or cute, irrelevant of their gender. While I'm not a fan of someone calling me pretty, I sure don't like the masculine version either, handsome. Mostly I think because I don't agree with either. I think it should be o...
