Re: Eurostar Uniform Skirts Now Unisex
I was wanting to read this but I need to pay a subscription. I checked and you can beat the paywall by opening the link and then QUICKLY hitting "stop". Then you can read the article without paying. This works on many (but not all) sites. Apparently noscript addon for Firefox also works, ...

Re: Techniques you've used to get more men into wearing skirts
The result of slow baby steps at best will get us masculinized skirts and dresses made of heavy scratchy fabric. You will have you choice of the drab color palette consisting of black, brown, dark blue, and gray. Is this what the folks on the Cafe want? The question of what comes next appeared in a...

Re: Shoe envy
When will all these brands realize they have a large market just waiting to be tapped with the right marketing and sizes larger than eu43.

Re: Techniques you've used to get more men into wearing skirts
Luckily the fabrics are changing for menswear too. Both the last two pairs of jeans I have bought have had a little elastic woven in and are both quite soft. Both picked up of the rack, in ordinary clothes stores, fairly cheap and in the mens isle, just were Joe would find his pair. Before that they...

Re: Skirts you like but scared to wear in public
Outside of a dance this one would be a little frightening for me, I mean getting stuck in a door and all that. :D I love that picture, and the skirt looks really fun! I have a few dresses I would think both two and three times before wearing out. I think I've had all my skirts save one out in public.

Re: Vernon Coleman men in dresses
One thing I disagree with in your post "we wear women's clothes". We wear the clothes commonly worn by women. But they are not womens clothes. Women dont own them. We are just reclaiming our right to dress as we choose. I woukd gladly choose from the mens side of the aisle, as long as the...

Re: Techniques you've used to get more men into wearing skirts
I think Damon had a valid point here, seeing more men in casual kilts will probably make more men want to try it out, just because it's seen as masculine. Once they have tried, the step to a skirt like Kirbstones is just a step away once you've seen the price difference. I'd recon that most people c...

Re: Vernon Coleman men in dresses
Honestly, it is it just pretty and comfortable? If it was just comfort couldn't we just get a cashmere jumper and a really nice shirt. We are in some respects "moths to the flame". Well, what is comfortable to one might be a nightmare to another. I like the fact that dresses don't constri...

Re: Vernon Coleman men in dresses
I just skimmed it, a lot of the quotes would be detrimental to our cause. I'm with Coder, this his has more to do with TV/CD than MIS, most of the responders get a thrill from the act of using women's clothes. The study is also old, its 30 years by now and times and society have changed a lot, proba...

Re: I bought a dress
Try just pinning them on with safety pins first, it does look quite good without the sleeves I think too. I found with sleeves it was easier to sew them in before closing the seam on the sleeves if you want a flat seam between the torso and sleeve. When I closed the sleeve(into a tube) first I alway...

Re: I bought a dress
I think some short sleeves or a collar might look good, might make it more clearly a dress with a nice two colour scheme rather than looking like a tank top and skirt.

Re: How often do you wear a skirt?
I wish I was a daily wearer! I probably average 2 days a week, and usually not out in public or the entire day. My wife, while mostly supportive, would rather not see me in dress of skirt. Looking into more kilts and shorts/trousers that look like skirts to try and bridge the gap. Well, I do wear a ...

Re: Attending a sewing class
Sewing classes sound fun! Nothing like that around where I live, lucky you!
As mouse said, sewing involves a lot of other things and only the last step is sitting down with the machine to stich it all up. Lots of drawing, measuring, cutting, pinning and ironing to do as well.
