Re: bike riding

As the avatar suggests I’ve ridden my Brompton in my knee length denim skirt and it’s fine. Quite heavy fabric so it doesn’t flutter around and although it rides up a little it’s not to the point of indecency. The low bar on the Brommie means I can step over and just hop on the saddle to set off.

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

Spent a happy few beskirted hours strolling around central London on Sunday, mostly browsing and window shopping but also buying one or two things. Had lunch in M&S cafe - all day vegan breakfast, very tasty. This was a first outing for me wearing black opaques (and no socks) which I’d previousl...

Re: went square dancing skirted

[...]Can't do Scottish dancing in trousers: it doesn't feel right. I don't think I would try Morris dancing in a skirt, though. Whyever not? Skirts form part of some morris costumes. Molly Dancing is a form of Morris where some male dancers dress in female clothing. According to Wikipedia it no lon...

Re: Skater Skirts Wearers Weight Loss

Congratulations on your loss! I bought this knee length skirt from M&S and really like it. https://www.marksandspencer.com/denim-knee-length-straight-skirt/p/clp22547591#intid=pid_pg1pip24g2r2c2%7Cprodflag_Online%20Only It’s well made and fits me well at a size 8. (Actually in truth it’s a littl...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

I have a very nice M6 ‘Nickel’ edition with titanium bits and bobs - it’s my second Brommie, a present for a significant birthday a few years ago. I absolutely love riding it around London, the closest thing to flying, as Jeremy Vine says. Definitely TB. I used to cycle from Paddington everyday to ...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

Had my first outing wearing black opaque tights with my denim knee length skirt yesterday. I cycled to Paddington, had a bite to eat at a cafe as I’d just missed a train, then travelled back home, doing emails most of the way. Popped along the train to get a cuppa at one point. No reaction I could ...

Re: Partners

I would like this. I haven’t broached my skirt wearing with my wife yet - I’m thinking I could raise it next summer when the weather is hot. It would be interesting to hear the thoughts of other women on the topic to help frame my approach.

Re: The road to not caring

Well done Hex - you got out there, you did it and you survived. I’m still pretty early in my journey but each time it gets a little easier. I’m storing up the thousands of uneventful interactions for the day I have a negative one - which will enable me to be certain they have the problem, not me. (S...

Re: Dressing for Fall and winter

This may make no sense at all, but has anyone found sheer hose to be warmer without leg hair? I've also found that leg hair seems to interfere in some way. My first theory was that leg hair has some insulating effect and tights press it down removing that. My other theory was that tights are actual...

Re: Dressing for Fall and winter

So I decided to give sheer nude hold ups a go as they will hopefully not be too noticeable - and that meant I had to get rid of the leg hair. I’ve only worn them around the house so far but I’ve been surprised how warm they feel. This may make no sense at all, but has anyone found sheer hose to be w...

Re: Dressing for Fall and winter

Thanks Coder, some really nice looking options there. I see there’s one male model which is great. I’m pretty short (about 5-6) which is one less thing to worry about.
