Good reminder Uncle Al
I dress that way at home on the deck quite often and always with sun glasses.
Well I wear glasses all the time. They auto tint.

Re: It’s A Kilt
I don't take any offense from people calling my kilt a skirt even though I do have a strong Scottish heritage. Of course I do live in the colonies so maybe I'm a bit uncouth. No matter I do enjoy wearing my kilt n skirts.

Re: New to the cafe, a bit about myself.
Welcome Kevino19.
Good place for encouragement.
I wear a skirt or a kilt all the time at home or out and about at large. I get more positive comments than negative ones. I say thanks for the positive and ignore the negative.
All I can say is go for it you will love the feel and the freedom.

Re: Pockets
I started skirting in kilts so of course no pockets. Spring and fall I wear a blue jean jacket so lots of good sized pockets. I have two. One with sleeves and one without sleeves. I have two purses for summer. A blue jean one with multiple divided areas and a hand stitched leather one. Now that I ha...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large
Had an extremely warm April Day here in Ontario Canada yesterday. 15 degrees Celsius. That is 60F for our American friends. Was out for a hours walk through town in my Gunn kilt then spent time with the neighbours around a fire on the beach wearing a mid-thigh blue A line skirt. It was a wonderful d...

Re: It’s A Kilt
I would say No. A kilt is a particular type of skirt.
It is a wrap style and it has pleats across the back.
The tee shirt statement in my humble opinion is wrong. That doesn't mean it isn't somewhat factual in a lot of peoples minds. I have been asked that question many times while wearing a kilt.

Re: Three C's
Pretty hard to keep wearing skirts secret when you live in the same house friend Barleymower. I just went with the kilt avenue first. found some cheap ones on etsy. They weren't even kilts really, lacked pleats at the back. Started wearing those around the yard. next found a couple of blue jean skir...

Welcome to the community Benzentin from a fellow Canadian, mid Ottawa valley. There are a few of us Canadians on this site. I think MIS is accepted well. I have had no negative issues at all.

Re: A positive point of view......
Ha, ha. That might work. The problem most have is getting to an attitude like that.
For me, I've been wearing just kilts and skirts for more than two years now. I don't really even think about it at all. It just is what I do. I don't worry about what others think or like.

Re: Kilt of the Day-- St. Patty
Wore my Irish kilt out and about all day during St Patrick's day. I got no comments at all. Maybe people are getting use to seeing me out skirting.

Re: How short is too short?
I've got a couple of blue jean skirts, worn at the male waist, that measure 13 inches. I believe that's about 33cm. I tend to wear a lot of kilt type skirts thus the 18 to 20 in my screen name. Most of my non kilt style skirts would be in the 16 inch range. I don't wear any skirts below the knee. I ...

Re: Hello from VA
Double_Wasp You mentioned looking at a utility kilt. Maybe your wife will be more accepting of a skirt that has male connotations. Whether that be utility or a tartan type. I still find I get more people interaction when I am wearing a kilt than when I am wearing a skirt. Perhaps wearing a skirt/kil...

Re: Moon and Liz visit Canada
Moon. Welcome to Canada. For more rural area try crossing at Sumas/Abbotsford. A right on Highway 1 gets you nothing but countryside. It's a good time for Americans to visit. exchange rate is very beneficial. I live in Ontario now but lived in Alberta for 20 years. spent a lot of time in the B.C. mo...

Re: "Man" Bags?
I have two. One is leather with a fixed length shoulder strap. It looks like an old style saddle bag. The other is a large multi pocket denim bag with an adjustable strap. I use them mainly in the summer when I am not wearing a jacket or coat. I have actually started using them less since I have sta...
