Re: Where will we be in say... ten years?
Hypothetical scenario.... Somebody markets a hiking dress for men. This becomes the first dress to gain traction. Grok I don't think finding the right item of clothing helps. It more about perceptions of men and women. Women have become hyper feminine and at the same time masculine. It leaves very ...

Re: Pride
I go with my daughter to Pride events (except here in Reading because she goes with her school friends). They are generally all about the fun. On that basis I wear whatever is most fun for me; which is mostly a skirt. The only problem is which one? I'm looking forward to Brighton Pride. We missed it...

Re: Dr Who
I feel like I've touched a nerve. Firstly I would like to establish they are not women's clothes, I'm with Eddie Izzard on that one. Then why did I say it? Because it is that word, that single word 'woman's' that epitomises the struggles we have. There was no coded language. It's right there in your...

Re: Dr Who
BM, I like this post. I am not saying I identify with any of the first part, but the last part I am doing my best to live to the max. Mouse I don't think anyone here does. It's an unfair image of men. Men like women. Men work hard for their families and love their families. We have all of that in c...

Re: Dr Who
The question in my mind has nothing to do with the basis of the show. It had everything to do with attitudes to men, and specifically men that wear "Women's" clothes. Your statement is what's holding men back, strengthening the constructed concept of Men's Clothes versus Women's Clothes. ...

Re: Dr Who
I know Dr. Who has a comedic element - I mean - heck - the entire show is (sort) of a spoof on serious sci-fi. But, do you really think this would have been played for laughs or could it have been done seriously/subtly? I suppose this could also come down to Tennant's own personal thoughts on the m...

Re: Dr Who
He is wrong and he knows it. It's not a mockery of drag. If David T went up on stage in Whittaker's clothes, nobody is going to think he's a drag artist. Drag is caberet. No women is going to think it's a mockery of women. They are going to laugh just as hard as anyone else. If anything a man in fem...

Re: Dr Who
I think it cements the idea that women's clothes are off limits, if anything.
Women know they are not inferior. They know there are things men are better at. They know they don't need to do it themselves. They can get a man to do it.
How is that inferior?

Re: Man in skirt wins Eurovision
Edit in blue @Barley: Please give me a proof that as a skirted man I can get in a romantic relationship with a woman. This will always get the priority over skirt ;-) I mean, as far as I know, people on board are either alone, either revealed their will to wear skirt after they're already in a stabl...

Mouse the towel was so short that I thought that it could not be used as anything other than an item of clothing. It was no more than a drying up cloth.

Re: Man in skirt wins Eurovision
@Spirou003: Please don't not reconsider. There will always be a reason to not go out there. @Mouse: Totally agree, theres nothing to worry about. The whole non binary thing has become a bit warped. It was a opportunity for all of us to recognise that is ok to put yourself in the other person's shoes...
