Re: World leaders and skirts

Not sure Northumberland would like to be annexed by Scotland on the rebuilding of Hadrian’s Wall. Disputed territories, changed sides many times; if they want to stay in England (why would they?) they can move the wall a bit further North. We would of course re-set the North Sea offshore border too...

Re: World leaders and skirts

... out of the EU against our will. So IF Scotland becomes independent and IF they re-join the EU, what will the land border look like? A big fence and check points? Charlie We would rebuild Hadrian's Wall and the forts along its length to form the border, as that's a good way of saving money (cann...

Re: First Snow...

We had a dusting, some of which is still here.

Pic from a walk yesterday morning. Gorgeous blue sky and just a bit below freezing.

Re: International Skirt Day 2022

As Stevie says, more people need to be out there and change attitudes, Crfriend shows that many people are, but are they willing to create an event, however small, on a particular date to further the aims? Sinned, you mention an inadvertent event, however if it was advertent, how much more attention...

Re: World leaders and skirts

I presume you are referring to independence of Scotland from (at least) England, where I and Dennis live.  In that case, we should have just as much say in whether England becomes independent of Scotland as the Scots should have in whether Scotland becomes independent of England.  That's what it ha...

Re: World leaders and skirts

bodycon, I get that you are anti-monarchy so you don't need to go on about it. I agree with pelmut, from your northern perch you are unable to feel or see the pro-monarchy element down here. It's not an insignificant movement. You Scots sometimes get blinded by your separatism. BTW, I'm not anti-mo...

Re: International Skirt Day 2022

I have just had a quick look in google and it is not inspiring. The 6th March is designated "National Dress Day". 8th March, International Women's Day. Keying "10th March 2022" , gets nothing for skirts for anyone of any gender. Disappointed but not surprised. Steve. I suppose if you ask a rather o...

Re: World leaders and skirts

They are an insurance policy against a dictatorship.  If a dictator ever came to power, the royal family would form a rallying point for those opposing him (or her).  Like most insurance policies, they appear to be a waste of money  ...until the unthinkable happens. Interesting that the discussion ...

Re: World leaders and skirts

Hate to rain on anyone's parade, however the British Royal Family and hangers on, are in no way World Leaders.

Parasites is the apt description.

Quite like Meghan's skirt though, apparently she has the same one in several colours.

Re: International Skirt Day 2022

Great idea - but 10th March... in Scotland where you are.... BRRRR!!!! Wouldn't it be a better idea for the summer? Then we could get schools involved as we are now seeing reports every summer of boys donning skirts on hot days. Write to the schools and invite them to put it to the students. !0th o...

International Skirt Day 2022

From another post: Maybe we (as a group) should start planning something for International Skirt Day to find a way to present skirt wearing for men. I have no idea if it has been tried before, but I'll start a topic for that and see if it can go anywhere. Has the group of forum members ever tried to...

Re: World leaders and skirts

I was hoping transvestite Eddie Izzard would stand for Parliament! But we need someone young and ready to push all the stereotypes (and get us back in the youknowwhat) and if they did, they would probably come from the Greens or Libdems. The issue / problem with the Eddie Izzard type of (celebrity)...

Re: Hiking Skirts - Who Wears What?

...but the new skirt has pockets on the outside of the legs so the contents would be constantly rubbing against your thighs. Really stupid, imagine doing 15 miles with your car keys etc irritating your legs? Sounds a bit like the Direct Alpine Jasmine Skirt I have, though I don't find that the pock...
