Re: Sightings "in the wild"

Quite a few women friends have told me that they prefer skorts to skirts because the built-in shorts are better for preventing thigh-rub or "chub rub" as they call it.

Re: David Banda (Madonna's son) in red dress

I thought the neckline was ok, it doesn't seem that deep and he has some defined pectoral muscles so the profile of it works.

Re: Hot weather kilt

but I did notice that the wide waistband does tend to ride down without hips for support. I've found with some of them the fit/sizing varies a little depending on the fabric color. If I need a little extra "stay up" power I've found that folding down the wide waistband does the trick most of the ti...

Re: Scout kilt look for the world .

I've been out of (USA) Boy Scouts for about 6 years now but there was some precedent for MacLaren tartan being in the uniform, but it was pretty rare and probably a local thing. One of the nearby towns was named Dunedin and the local high school marching band all wore kilts and had a bagpipe section...

Re: Going to say it again...

Nude is best of course, but I was wearing a Purple Rain "kilt" today when I was mowing the lawn and my wife and I were planting some landscape plants around our back yard. Hot and sweaty today in Florida but I was feeling pretty good and ventilated.

Re: Sarong for men

Sarongs were my introduction to skirts and kilts a little over a year ago...looking for something to cover up with around the pool and my wife approved and...now I'm a serial-kilter. ;)

Re: Fashion brand ClHu — Clothes for Humans

I don't hate it, but $110??!!

I generally loathe skorts because they're not comfortable, but these might be ok. I have a few pairs of terry shorts that I'll wear around the house sometimes that are pretty comfy but definitely not modest enough to wear in public.

Re: Is this the reason?

I really prefer the term egalitarianism to feminism: "relating to or believing in the principle that all people are equal and deserve equal rights and opportunities." I feel a lot of feminism (these days) has become focused on negativity, and not equality. I remember growing up there was a book/reco...

Re: Is this the reason?

When I was growing up our gym shorts in school were really short and we wore short cut-off jean shorts in the summer (recycling those jeans that we wore the knees out of too many times!) and it was pretty normal for men to show their thighs and lower legs, hairy or not. I never think anything of it,...

Re: Bolder Lad's TechniKilt

I asked and you can customer order the kilt pattern here: https://bolderathleticwear.com/collections/individual-custom-products/products/individual-custom-bolder-skirt The downside is it's almost $120 and they are skorts, if that's a negative (it is for me). I suppose $120 is not bad for something w...

Re: Hot weather kilt

The extra fabric on the "kilt" feels a bit more modest to me in front, no male "bump" shows through. The only time I use the snap is on a windy day to secure the front. The skirts are super comfy, and I like the length of them. Right now the "kilt" is only available in black so I'll be getting a few...

As the great Jimmy Buffett said (paraphrasing) "The cosmic bakers took us out of the oven a little too early, and there's a little bit of fruitcake left in every one of us." (some more than others)

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

My own theory is that many people won't necessarily outwardly react, but are still amused, confused or bemused by a man in a skirt. That's fine by me; I don't much care and that's really at the heart of the matter. Most people seem to just notice and then go on about their day, they have their own ...
