Re: bike riding

I should try that idea. I have a EZ-Sun bike that is a recumbent design. Legs are more forward than a standard road bike. I tried riding wearing a Utilikilt. The wind just pushed the material up to my hips. I have a Catrike 559, so that's my main issue as well. Much more difficult to manage the ski...

Re: bike riding

I found a rather ingenious little clip/strap device on Etsy https://www.etsy.com/shop/PinceAntiVol that works quite nicely to secure the front of a skirt/kilt to a bike frame. They're a bit pricey but well made...would not be difficult to make yourself with a bit of elastic and a fabric clip. I'll b...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

We went to see Manatees at a state park, strolled the gardens at BOK tower (an amazing place!) Aha! You were in my neck of the woods. 8) I find that in any touristy area they're used to seeing all kinds of people and wearing something unusual is hardly worth noticing. Glad you had a good trip!

Men wearing skirts 2024, Good crazy or ok?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TITRmWOPbfQ This is a bit rambling but this guys attitude was pretty cool, I think. He sees men wearing skirts as an increasing trend and while he's not really sure about it for himself he still feels it is inevitable to be more common. A lot of the video is him talki...

This is exactly what I've been doing! The cycling shorts are practical for exercise but wearing shorts over them just traps heat and sweat. A skirt over is much nicer both visually and for comfort.

Re: What have you discovered through wearing skirts and dresses?

Agreed with most of the answers here, especially the breezy part and liking the interactions with the fabric. I'll sometimes grasp a bit of it around the outside of my thigh when standing and thinking over something, it's quite comforting in a way. The main thing is realizing I have choices...rather...

Re: When you're asked why do you wear skirts?

Rude answer: "ball room" Polite answer: "They're comfy AF" / "Why not?" 8) My wife's answer: "You're just lucky he's wearing anything at all." That noted - I wear mostly mini kilts (14-16 inch hem length) and skirts with pleated tartan plaid patter...

A state case maybe, instead of a federal one.

It's good to see some pointlessly gendered things being treated as such, at an rate.

Myopic Bookworm wrote: Mon Feb 26, 2024 12:47 pm There had been some discussion as to whether dividing the display into "men's" and "women's" was useful, or whether it would be better to group frames by shape.
My few local Costco opticals don't have them divided by gender, just by style and designer, it's quite nice.

Re: My slip is showing!

For a few years now I've been using cotton "T-shirt extenders" as an alternative to a slip. (just pop that phrase into your favorite search engine) They're designed to be worn as a layering piece but if you wear them low they function quite nicely as a slip. They are thicker and more funct...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

Spent a few days in Mickey Mouse world as a mid-week get away with the Mrs, and I only packed a few utility kilts to wear to remove the "should I or shouldn't I" anxiety that sometimes crops up when deciding what to wear. My main complaint with kilts is that they tend to stand out a bit ra...

Re: That rare male compliment

I was wearing a tartan utility kilt at a Disney theme park a few mornings ago. As we were making our way back to the bus stop my wife stopped to use the facilities and I was waiting along a patch of wall just checking my phone. A guy walking by just said "that is a really awesome kilt, my man!&...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

I was tending to an ornamental flower garden out by the street yesterday, and one of my almost-neighbors passed by walking his dog and came up to me to chat. I was wearing a black pleated utility kilt that was a little above knee-length. Up until this time we'd only exchanged a polite wave of the ha...
