Re: Question

Hey FLbreezy, that’s awesome! From the looks, they don’t seem to be a wrap skirt but this newbie doesn’t really know what this means. Does it go on like a kilt? With that side opening you pull something through? Hope you post a review on how it is to work in. I got a UK utility kilt to work around ...

Re: Fashion brand ClHu — Clothes for Humans

I’m really impressed by them. Like the skort better than the kilt-in-name-only. They are so much easier to run in. Seems they don’t have many left. Not sure if they’re going out of business but… I asked a year or so ago if they were doing any new patterns and the owner said she'd let me know. I'm g...

Re: Question

Tove Wear made a kilt version of their Maker Skirt tis past year but it's no longer on their website. Besides the expense, either they didn't sell well of they are between batches. Damn, I'd wear either the kilt or the skirt version of that in a heartbeat...too bad they're so expensive. That'd be g...

Re: Fashion brand ClHu — Clothes for Humans

Have you ever tried skorts from JWalking designs? I run in them and they are awesome. The ones for women are skorts. Mens are true skirts that of course they call a kilt to allow men to buy and wear I have one of their running "kilts" and used to wear it quite a lot when getting my morning walk in....

Re: Fashion brand ClHu — Clothes for Humans

"Deconstructed Utility Skirt": https://clhu.com/products/decon-cargo-skirt-mkh?variant=42079543886031 Too long and too expensive for my taste, but I like the marketing on it anyway, and they show male models wearing it. Gender Who? This skirt is amazing on everybody! We’ve taken the ClHu cargo lifes...

All I can think of is the amount of noise that would make in the washing machine.

Plain and simple. They would be cheap at half the length which would be my preference.
Agreed, too long for me. I suspect shorter is not practical/professional for the intended market though.

Re: A plea for skirts as a degendering measure

In terms of de-gendering, we probably can't overlook the fact that while there are a lot of different body types (thank goodness, it makes life interesting!) statistically speaking men and women tend to have some structural differences (again, thank goodness for that  ). Some alterations to par...

Re: FashionUnited: New York Men's Day exemplified a new masculinity

Back 20+ years ago when I was a cubicle warrior, the only splash of color acceptable with our black or grey suits was in our choice of ties...as long as it was solid, striped or paisley. Fridays it was acceptable to wear a "fun" tie, and I'd whip out my Ralph Marlin fish tie or something Jimmy Buffe...

Re: Skirts + building things - tips?

In the past I've worn a heavy cotton (I think?) utility kilt for a lot of things like that, but depending on what I'm doing it seems kind of bulky. I picked up a few stretchy cotton skorts from Sam's Club recently and they've kind of been my go-to for a lot of things. Over the last week I've been in...

Re: Question

But think about those who right now are not wearing them. They are not going to be instantly in favor of it not try them. They need to be eased into it. And allowing them to call all mens skirts a kilt, because of course it’s made for men and is manly, would go a long way towards acceptance. I thin...

Re: Question

I'd prefer calling it what it is, an UBGCTLHOTB*. I suppose if calling it a kilt helps make it more beginner-friendly to the UBGCTLHOTB-curious male, then sure go for it. Heck, these people are marketing an apron to men as a kilt. Maybe it will open their eyes to other possibilities. As for me, I'm ...
