Re: Lets talk about jewelry

I'm pretty much a jewelry whore - especially earrings! I wear dangle earrings almost exclusively, mostly pretty large ones. I have a couple or 3 pairs of hoops, none smaller than 3 inch. I wear 3 necklaces/pendants every day in mundania, but throw on the bling when "going out" or performin...

Re: Skirts and corsets

I recently got a corset to minimize the belly for an "Elegant Gothic Aristocrat" outfit. I wear a full slip underneath the corset. Interesting for sure!

A skirt made from ties.
That is the ONLY acceptable way to wear them. Otherwise, just say "NO!".

Re: Sewing machine-Old School vs. New School

That is correct. My dance teacher told me, when I expressed a desire to buy my first sewing machine, to buy an old all metal one that can zig-zag from a sewing machine dealer. That advice served me very well, I came home with a 1976 White that is my "primary" machine to this day. Paid $75 ...

Re: Airport pat down wearing utilikilt

I once told a TSA screener who was having me pose in various contortions to "just save us both a bunch of time and lift it up and look. Its all G-rated under there..."

"You can move along now, Sir..."

Re: Do folks notice or not?

There's been the rare occasion where I have actually said to someone who was obviously staring so hard that their eyeballs were on little stalks (usually, but not always women): "Truth is stranger than fiction!". Or if they're further away, I'll just wave and smile!

I'm pretty much of the same opinion - except I *LOVE* mustard! As long as its "yellow" mustard, not that Grey Poo-poo stuff...

Re: Men Wearing Nail Polish

I'm going in to my nail salon tomorrow for a mani/pedi. Gel over acrylic for the fingernails, regular polish for the toes.

I've heard through the grapevine that the salon owner picks out new gel colors with me in mind - I like sparkly!

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

I was in a "Mac Shack" a few days ago, the gal in line in front of me got an eyeful of my colorful, lower thigh length skirt. Just could not process it I guess, she stood there subtly shaking her head. I told her "Truth is stranger than fiction.".

Male beauty has been a lifelong quest of mine - not only is today's culture "against" masculine beauty, its forgotten what it is or even that it ever existed!

Re: Skirt length - my experience

Knee length is absolutely the shortest I'll wear.

I prefer at least mid-calf length, and have several lower calf, ankle, and even floor length.

The longer the better - the fuller the better!

My repartee about Face***k is: "I'm not on Facebook - and you shouldn't be either!". Its interesting that Face***k represents the population at large percentage wise - except for one group who is much smaller there than in real life: Computer professionals of one type or another. We know b...
