About 11/12 maybe 13. The girls at school wore short gym skirts...
I see in your picture, you are wearing a school-girls pleated mini.
I have a couple of those, and I really like wearing them. I think they are cute.

Put on my first skirt at 70 took about 6 months before first trip out
Now I am 74 wear skirts 50 % of the time and dresses 20%
I'm pretty-much in line with oldsalt here.
Now when I go out, I choose either skirt, shorts, or even pants, depending on what I want to wear that day.

Re: Has anyone else worn a really short skirt out and about

I wear only minis, in denim, cotton, or plaid. Most of my skirts are 12 inches, the shortest is 9 inches, waist to hem. I wear them everywhere, and I always try to coordinate my outfit. At the transit train station going home, I have to climb a steep stairway. In a denim skirt, this potentially expo...

Re: Mature college student

Thanks, all you guys, for reflecting your support in different areas. Socially, a big challenge is the age gap. Most of the students are in their 20's. Some try to be friendly by talking about their grandparents, who in their 60's are all younger than me. My own mannerisms are a barrier, too. In my ...

Re: Mature college student

Well, my story is this: I did not complete High School in 1959, so I went back to graduate in 1972, with the intention of going into university. But I couldn't decide on what courses to take -- just learning about stuff, I guess. Meanwhile my new career in computer hardware and software was interest...

Canada is the Great White Frozen North. Alberta is the sunniest and windiest province in Canada. This light-weight pleated skirt is viscose, a very light fabric. I'm not crazy about the colour, but it matches the shirt. (Sorry I duplicated my f...

I live in Canada, the Great White Frozen North.
Alberta is the sunniest and windiest province in Canada.
So layers of anything are always going on, and coming off.

Mature college student

In college, most of the students are in their 20's. Most students wear a sort of default black pants, black sweater, a non-fashion. As a mature student, I already don't blend in with the crowd. Social interaction is always pleasant and polite, but fleeting. So I am always seen in a short skirt, with...
