Re: Sir Garyson Perry is "just a man who likes to wear dresses"

I'm looking forward to the our next meet up. We can can have a chat then. On this subject, it won't be a meet-up, more like a week long convention. If you reach a conclusion, frankly I'd be shocked, I don't believe there is one. The nomenclature isn't as important as societal attitude and norms. So...

Re: Skirts in Schools - No hope for boys

I am not sure what your reasons are, but a standard school has all of the above. As a governor you have a voice to affect the ethos of the school. I am a governor and the uniform request we got to consider was "could the girls be allowed to wear shorts as the boys were in hot weather?" my...

Re: Skirts in Schools - No hope for boys

The relative had been a school governor for a secondary school for many years and his wife asked me if I would be willing to apply for her late husband's post as governor which, she assured me, doesn't take up too much time. I said I would think about it - but I'm not interested for several reasons...

Thank you Stephanie53, I am quite proud of the picture. It is one thing to wear these boots at home and quite another to go on a jaunt across London in them. I also wore them all night at the party I was going to.

Re: Ballet Flats and Mary Janes Back on the Runway

Not quite sure what they are saying, but they do look fun! I have loved high heeled boots since a kid. Now I have skirts, I get a licence to buy what ever boots I like for my feet. I then challenge myself to make journeys in them. I'm trying to not have two completely separate wardrobes. I don't qu...

I always wanted the big skirts with all of the petticoats, so guess yes.

Re: Sir Garyson Perry is "just a man who likes to wear dresses"

But that didn't happen, instead I have a wife and I love my wife and I love our kids, I would not change a thing. Yet my mind wriggles and squirms looking for an escape of the male prison it is locked in. I did not need to try being gay to know it was not for me. I have never stood next to a man an...

Re: Sir Garyson Perry is "just a man who likes to wear dresses"

Skirts are like a little holiday from myself but again I find the war within invades that space as well. I live and work in two highly male dominated areas and if my skirt wearing was revealed in these places, I have it in my mind the laughter would be uncontrollable. I want to preface my comment h...

Re: What are these knights wearing?

I am no historian so can't help you. However, I just wanted to say, where did we men go wrong? Skirts in bright colours, long hair, heels, they had it all. Now look at most men in 2024. (present company excepted)

Re: What feminine items do you wear?

I am afraid I have to live in the real world of men and some females. I have to turn up on building sites and set up a working relationship to get my designs put into the construction. A working knowledge of football, cars and popular culture is useful to converse about and show that I am a OK perso...

I am not sure I totally agree on the shoe front. As members may have noticed I love my crazy heels. To me there is no stronger statement of power than a 7" heeled boot.

I was also concerned about where you would put it. I know you have big houses in the US, but even so it is big.

Re: Skirt from a tablecloth?

Found a vintage 70's circle tablecloth and am mulling over the possibility. I would have thought that a round tablecloth is an easy circle skirt ready made. Obviously the edge of the tablecloth is a ready made hem. So the waist band is the only other thing to make. Depending on how big the tableclo...
