Re: Theory: Men Hate Fashion/Dressing Up Because We Can't Wear Skirts

That ofc leads to decrease in demand for any clothing items that stand out for men, we are taught that the shorts and tee on the top of the pile is just as good as the one under it, and as they all are in the same drab colour palette they usually match so we never needed to learn that skill as kids...

Re: Will Skirts Ever be Mainstream for Men?

I just recently wore it in public and felt good. I am a straight guy who has no wish to change my gender. I just like the look of skirts and other so called feminine clothing and I feel great wearing it. Hopefully this will catch on for other men but I’m not holding my breath. No need to hold your ...

Re: Mississipi School Discriminate Transgender Girl

I was five years old when I got spectacles/eye glasses. Yes I have the same T-Shirt. I also have the cute school cap problem T-Shirt. Let me explain, 1968ish 1st day at school. School uniform was the normal with the optional school cap which my mother thought was "sweet" "smart"...

Re: Will Skirts Ever be Mainstream for Men?

This refers nicely to the "two camps" that have been referred to in the past -- and it dovetails perfectly with Stu's assertion of skirts-as- signifier . Most of us do not regard the skirt as a signifier of who or what we are (we wear them as fashion and style preferences); on the other h...

They believe that if you deviate from the confines of the Man-Box, you will be seen is a homosexual. Therein lies the problem. I don’t think being “seen as a homosexual” is that big of a deterrent these days. There are so many cool gay men that are totally accepted that it seem totally fine to be c...

New Game

So for this game to work, you have to be dressed in something interesting. Your choice. You can play the game starting with something very subtle, then replay each time pushing the boat a little further out. So as you walk along a normal street in your interesting outfit, maintain your head in the n...

Re: Theory: Men Hate Fashion/Dressing Up Because We Can't Wear Skirts

I think you have to look at women have done with trousers. Just look at the range of trousers women have compared with men. So we have to ask the question why is this so? Is it because manufacturers have tried more interesting designs for men and been unable to sell them, so now only make boring thi...

Re: Where will we be in say... ten years?

I don't think skirts for men will ever be normalized in Western society, and truthfully, I really don't care. As long as it's not criminalized I'll be just fine. :) I would second that. I think if you look at how many women wear skirts, the most men you are ever going to get to wear skirts is the s...

That’s got to be the world famous Forth Bridge which is also my favourite bridge in the world. I remember as a kid the highlight of visiting Edinburgh was crossing the Forth Bridge which has fascinated me since I was a child. At the moment I am doing printing designs based on the Forth Bridge Anywa...

Re: Trousers, Women have more....

The only problem is having the guts to wear what I want to wear in public without getting ridiculed. I have only gone out twice wearing a skirt without a long trench coat hiding it and so far so good but I feel that there will be setbacks from narrow minded idiots laughing at me or showing disgust....

Re: Mississipi School Discriminate Transgender Girl

I am speaking for the seven or so year old me here, and maybe it is more representative than you may think. Yes, I should have been able to demand that I was addressed and treated as a girl. The sad bloody fact is that I was too scared to ask nicely and suffered the consequences. Steve. The time we...
