Re: Stumbled across this

It’s a bit weird how they switch between people who look nearly identical - except the tattoos. Because I’m pretty sure the first two photos are of a woman. My reaction was that they both were wearing the same wig. That would make sense - the hair was quite... well unique and I wondered how they go...

Also - expensive for some pieces of stretch fabric. Even with their discount too pricey and too tight of clothes. Might as well be selling exer...

Re: Test Positive for COVID-19

Through most of central USA it’s max 70mph, with lower and faster posted speeds depending on the state and road types. TX, for instance, has speed limits up to 80mph (I swear I came across a section that was 85, but don’t recall where). It’s a bit scary to actually travel that fast in TX on these ba...

Re: Think about it!!

I hope no one took my “we really lucked out” comment the wrong way. MERS, SARS, etc... are horrific and have HIGH fatality rates. We’ve been been very fortunate neither of those have broken out into the greater population. They’d make the 1918 flu look like a cake walk. And I’m certainly not dismiss...

Re: Think about it!!

Which government said this?  None of the current ones, I'll bet. I’m sure these are all misreading of statements from government or scientific sources. I’m serious - usually what is done is the author of these memes ignores the entirety of a passage and takes the first sentence (or even ignores the...

Re: Observations.....

We were traveling through downtown Jefferson in Texas one year, and there was a biker charity even going on - for a children’s hospital I think. These guys and gals looked scary, but walking amongst them (was antiquing), listening to the conversations, they were nice people. Totally flew in the face...

Re: Think about it!!

A lot of those points are “true” only because we don’t have hard scientific data on the vaccine yet. Once enough studies have been done a lot of those will have been proven to be false. Also - since the vaccines are highly effective but not 100% (is anything in life guaranteed 100%?) - no one is goi...

Re: Coffee at the café.

My preferred drink is mint hot chocolate, but because I can’t drink milk, settle on decalf with peppermint-chocolate non-dairy creamer. It is far from a coffee purists dream, but is an occasional treat.

Also, frozen coffe drinks, though I haven’t had one in a long time as they are kinda unhealthy.

Re: Test Positive for COVID-19

I’m returning on a cross-country outing (not pleasure), MI to TX and back, driving. The concern for COVID... is not great in many of the states I’ve travelled through. While I’ve been masked and sanitized wherever I went, about 50% of the businesses I’ve stopped at (or ran away from!) did not mask o...

Re: Test Positive for COVID-19

The technology behind the vaccine should not cause cancer. In fact, it is both used as a (research) anti-cancer vaccination tool, and is replicating what we’ve done with previous vaccines. The only difference is that the set of instructions put into the cell are synthetic, and not from a live (then ...

Re: Test Positive for COVID-19

The BBC is not perfect but it’s streets ahead of the rubbish that purports to be news in the USA. On all my visits to the US, I have been surprised by the poor - and polarised - media. It’s a level below the U.K. How many news outlets do you have that are accused of bias by both sides of the politi...

Re: Test Positive for COVID-19

Ahhh, chipping. When I was in gradeschool I knew an adult who was big into conspiracy theories. The chip was a big thing on his mind, he had glossy pamphlets that showed a cross-section of it. It was quite beautiful, actually. I think I was briefly worried for about a year of my life that we were al...

Re: Test Positive for COVID-19

Early on in the pandemic I sent several corrections into the BBC - these weren’t even misunderstandings about the virus itself. They were major misunderstandings of a very simple quote they split up which wholly changed it’s meaning. This wasn’t “confusion” due to the new virus - it was sloppy journ...

Re: Test Positive for COVID-19

Well, this article is interesting: https://www.mdpi.com/1999-4915/13/2/270/htm - describes several trials that have taken place with this technology (pre-COVID). I think this sentence drives home the interest in getting this technology to work: Thus, once the pharmaceutical process for mRNA producti...

Re: Test Positive for COVID-19

I’m not concerned about the one in a million chance of having blood clotting or even dying from the vaccine - my bigger concerns are long-term unknown effects of the vaccine. A soldier going to war for our country is a far cry from being an unwilling guinea pig for the pharmaceutical companies. The ...
