Re: What are you afraid of

And very simple, you can't create a vaccin unless you have prior info on the nature of the virus (compare it with codings on a resistor). They can read these codings under a microscope. And simply, if you don't know what you are fighting you have to figure it out by means of trial and error. The te...

Now please excuse me as I use the nanoparticles in my body from the vaccination to tap into the WiFi network and then email Bill Gates ;-)

Re: Jet Blue flight attendants uniform

Now I personally don't have a big desire to wear "feminine clothes" at work. I suppose I could ask for a women's uniform, but it would basically look exactly the same, maybe the buttons on the other side... so what's the point? But in fairness, even if I had an office job, I'd probably just dress l...

Re: Jet Blue flight attendants uniform

It should be pointed out that this is a story of a man who is wearing the entire uniform of the opposite sex in order to present as or like women; he is not doing it to extend the sartorial choices straight, cis-gendered men have. In so doing, he is perpetuating the association of skirt= female , w...

Re: Jet Blue flight attendants uniform

First I just want to say I think it's good to collect these links even if... the headline is terrible, as is the linked twitter thread... and article comments. I don't even know if I should give it the honor of being called an article - the author didn't try to track down and interview the individua...

Re: Skirts as a defense for covid

In thinking about my reply to Coder on the official "covid" thread, I got to thinking about social distancing and the area in which I reside. That part where you wrote: I'm a natural social distancer, just ask my mother, who has often picked at me for my refusal to "hug" and get close to people sin...

Re: Covid 19

It'll be interesting to see how far they take them in the US - an epidemiologist told me that there is little political will for more lockdowns. The usual actors (CA, NY, etc...) will likely re-implement a lot of the restrictions, but it's unlikely to be an across the nation change. Here's a good ar...

Re: Keeping a flat front

Well, update of sorts. I ended up wearing the skirt, and overall the zipper behaved properly during a 4-hour walk downtown. I think I was making a bigger deal of it than it was.

Re: Skirt Etiquette

Not trying to overthink, although I do that at times :D Exiting a car was a surprise to me - I hadn't really thought about it until I had read someone posting here, and glad I did! Once when I was on a self-driving bus, a lady wearing a mini skirt was sitting across from me and was manspreading - it...

Skirt Etiquette

A situation came up last week when I was out at an art fair, and it occurred to me there are etiquette differences and such when wearing a skirt versus other types of bottoms (pants, shorts, etc..). I spent about four hours skirted at an art fair, and was about to go into a booth but the artist was ...

Ran across this thread on Reddit and it had some good commentary related to why women cross the aisle for clothes: https://www.reddit.com/r/Showerthoughts/comments/nxkxql/the_fact_that_its_considered_more_socially/ The Pink tax Clothes fit tighter Clothes are made cheaper Less selection when it come...

Pretty much everything. It's amazing I make it out of the house on some days, but greater fears push lesser fears out of the way.

Re: Is it a case of the grass is greener on the other side of the aisle?

One reason MOH gives for disapproving of me wearing skirts is that she finds them uncomfortable and impractical, and thus can't understand why I might want to! An older lady a few years ago said the same thing to me - for her it was thigh chafing. My thighs are skinny, so don't really have that iss...

Re: Is it a case of the grass is greener on the other side of the aisle?

The thought has crossed my mind from time to time - especially when I evaluate what makes a skirt (or outfit for that matter) comfortable or uncomfortable. Additionally, men have very little standards when it comes to clothes. But I think a major reason they complain about their clothes is because o...
