Re: Skirt from a tablecloth?
Thanks! It's absolutely possible, but depending on the diameter of the tablecloth (which will define the hem length) it may be somewhat difficult to find the precise centre which then means that the maths to get the size of the waist right so the tablecloth can be properly cut in precisely the right...

Skirt from a tablecloth?
Anyone attempt this or see any tutorials (a bit too busy to go down that Google/YouTube rabbit hole)? Found a vintage 70's circle tablecloth and am mulling over the possibility.

Re: skirts for men
No problem with them except one, I just cannot see why there is a fixation on "skirts" being made exclusively for men. I'll accept that there is a case for some flexibility in design with an end user in mind and even bespoke garments, but there is such a breadth of choice to be had by cro...

Re: Skirts, Pants, and Deuteronomy 22:5
I'm kind of a boring person then - I just don't worry about "the after". I mean - I live my life according to my moral compass (informed by my faith) but I don't dwell on what happens. Maybe it's avoidance, but what does it matter? We won't know until then, so <shrugs>, whatever. I see peo...

Re: Skirts in Schools - No hope for boys
Is it just me or are women the worst one's when it comes to being against men's skirts. The only time I had a man complain was because someone else put him up to it, all the other types of resistance came from women, men just seem to see it as weird but are relatively indifferent on the matter. I c...

Re: A beautiful skirt
Heavens no Coder! I would never do away with the built in slip. I got rid of the tulle net between the top layer and slip. That's going to get rid of the original silhouette of the skirt by decreasing the volume of it. I concur with crfriend - just took a closer look at the original photo. You coul...

Re: A beautiful skirt
remove the mesh You mean the built-in-slip? Just a small advisory - if you wear any kind of legwear having the built-in slip is much nicer than an add-on. And in fact... yesterday I wore a slip WITH my lined skirt and tights. I don't know why I've never tried it before - but no cling! I usually onl...

Re: Pretty Skirts?
I'll get over that, or I won't, either way I still wear a skirt every day. That is the most important thing. You should always wear what you are comfortable wearing. This is real life and not a competition to see who can be the most daring in what they wear. Yes - for sure! Mental and physical comf...

Re: What a child sees in a famous work of art
Sorry if I am strange, but these days when I see an image, my brain starts taking it apart, what am I suppose to see, what am I being sold? So, I did a bit more digging and an image search, I believe the original is an AI picture creating site here Yeah... I got "AI-uncanny valley" vibes ...

Re: Dress, body and experiences of victimization
When people smirks, make a fawn face and even the smile, I believe people are sexualizing us and our clothing. Through this sexualization I believe they are cataloging us being queer instead a straight male who likes to make his own fashion. I'd hope not! To me smirks are repressing a laugh or show...

Wasn't my idea Coder! I know, sorry my reply didn't look that way (I wondered if I should have clarified). I was agreeing with your sentiment. I know the effort involved to bring a group of MIS together in one place , it is damn near impossible! Never mind twenty, twelve or so guys in skirts in one...

Re: International Men Can Wear Dresses Day
That experience merely establishes my credentials for being realistic about pressure groups, flash mobs all the other fanciful notions which have been floated on this thread. It would be quite an undertaking to convince a goodly amount of people to form a flash mob... plus it would be weird -> what...

Re: Doing away with "Embracing feminity"
Imagine a world without beauty, without empathy, and without compassion exist -- for that's where we seem to be going. And it hurts -- at least for this old boy -- to see those go. And I think that's what we have to all question: why are those things considered feminine? And if they are intrinsical...
