Re: Richmond Magazine
This is Richmond, VA! I take this challenge seriously...daily! (Except when I am working.) Next time I visit Richmond, I plan to be skirted.

Re: The skirt... still a bridge too far it seems.
I wear skirts and have long hair. I don't normally paint my nails (I do paint my toes in the winter at times). I have no tattoos or piercings (I'd rather spend that money on my home or hobbies :D ). The only jewelry I wear is my wedding band, a watch, and my grandfather's High School class ring. Her...

Re: Trying on clothes in-store
Most of the skirts I have purchased have come from either Goodwill or Plato’s Closet. Neither one in our area have gendered fitting rooms. If I happen to be in a store with gendered fitting rooms, I would use the men’s fitting rooms. As stated several times, being kind is key. The staff does not car...

Re: PureWow: Unisex Fashion is Here to Stay, Even If Boomers Don’t Quite Understand It
The only resistance I face in skirts is from a few family members. Here in the Valley, I don't get much pushback from Millennials or Gen-Z. I get a few stares from the Boomers. There are places I avoid while wearing a skirt because of the extremely conservative religious crowd (Mennonites, Pentecost...

Re: More non-reactions
While wearing a skirt here in the Valley, I get no negative comments. I do notice a few sideways glances now and then. I think most of it comes from my longer hair. Mix that with a nice skirt, and the general public doesn't know how to respond :D When I travel across the mountain to Charlottesville,...

Re: Coffee at the café.
I make my coffee each morning in a French Press and add just a bit of flavored creamer (nothing in particular, but whatever I'm in the mood for when I grocery shop). I like the full flavor a French Press offers over other methods I have attempted at home. Now for the coffee beans themselves, I buy j...

Re: I don't remember this one being pointed out before
I grew up in an extremely fundamentalist Baptist church. The passage from Deuteronomy was used as a tool (weapon) to force females into skirts during a time when pants for women was exploding in popularity. Until the time I permanently left that church in 1996, a woman had to have a skirt or dress o...

I have two daughters, ages 18 & 17, and they are fully supportive of me. They actually help me make good fashion choices! We are truly blessed to have Gen Z daughters

Re: Hi everyone
Greetings from the Shenandoah Valley! I started wearing kilts in my 20's and only recently added skirts to my wardrobe (I'm in my 40's now). You are right, your generation and younger will embrace men in skirts. My teenage daughters are my biggest supporters and even help me with my wardrobe choices...

Welcome to the Cafe!
A good place to look for your first skirt(s) is any thrift store. All of my skirts have come from Goodwill or Plato's Closet. Denim is a good place to start. Even in the summer, a knee-length denim skirt is far more comfortable than any pair of shorts
Happy skirting!

Re: Sexual Fetish or Gender Expression?
I am just a guy in a skirt. I desired to wear skirts from a very young age. Because of my strict religious upbringing and being bullied growing up, it took me many years to get the courage to even wear a kilt in public. However, once I did, it felt amazing! Now I have more skirts than pants (work un...

An hour ago...I was watching some cool advertisements interrupted by a boring football game.
Earlier today...I was listening to classical records while watching the winter wonderland unfold outside our large bay window
