Davies also said that, should the still of Tennant in Whittaker’s clothes have leaked, “I guarantee you it's the only photograph some of the papers would print for the rest of time.” He continued: “If they can play with gender in a sarcastic or critical way, they will. We could have the Doctor dres...

Re: Man in skirt wins Eurovision
I'm afraid this is really becoming a flag, which is good for them, but definitely not for an average guy who may be hesitant to give it a try :-( This will make me reconsider twice about wearing a skirt publicly in the coming weeks, to avoid the unwanted linkage. I was actually wondering about this...

Re: Man in skirt wins Eurovision
I found it most interesting that the song "The code" is not that far from what we're about here at the cafe. For example: Welcome to the show, let everybody know I’m done playing the game, I’ll break out of the chains You better buckle up, I’ll pour another cup This is my bohème, so drink ...

Re: Hypothethical Question
In inventing the "GNC Box" you're merely isolating yourself even farther from the mainstream. GNC is a description, namely the opposite of Gender Conforming. It no more creates a box than saying "leaves are green" creates a box of green things. It does not specifically refer to ...

Re: I finally wore a skirt in public
Thanks for the heads up. I’ve decided to buy online from Shein. They sell plus size skirts and dresses which look really good and they are an affordable price. I bought myself a black pinafore dress which looks lovely. https://www.shein.co.uk/SHEIN-EZwear-Plus-Solid-Overall-Dress-Without-Tee-p-2763...

Re: I finally wore a skirt in public
Anyway back on topic my partner is taking me shopping to buy a pinafore dress as she knows women’s dress sizes. She told me that she is proud of me and that I look great. I think that's a great look. Though pinafores don't seem to be super popular around here right now. A tip if you're want to try ...

Re: Red pleated skirt... that inspires a kilt
As the others have said, I've found ironing the pleats first, then sewing helps a lot in getting then straight. Also, sometimes theres a foot which helps keeping the needle a constant distance from the edge. Regarding pockets, I didn't succeed in finding a good design for integrating them into the p...

Re: Red pleated skirt... that inspires a kilt
That actually looks really cool. I can't imagine a bit of ironing will do nothing at all. Pleats take absolutely ages and I can understand if they didn't all come out well. These are all straight knife pleats, right? I've always wondered if there should be a point in the middle at the back where the...

Re: Barbie Ken Games & AI
The main thing to remember about Large Language Models and similar is that they reflect the world as it is. They were trained with data about the world now, and so will only repeat that. The funniest example I've heard is that if you ask for a picture of a fish you often get hands included because m...

Re: So my wife got me a handbag for Christmas….
My SO got me a cross-body black handbag a few years ago and I use it a lot. Not so much in the winter since when you wear a coat all the time outside, the handbag feels like overkill. But now it's warming up again I'm using it more often again. it's so nice to have all the important things in one pl...

Re: Sensitive Training
People and society? Not so much. This is one of the reasons I like where I work: as someone noted when looking at a group photos of my colleagues, we're like one huge collection of nerds (even the women). Everybody has something weird, in any normal company we'd be the weirdos, but here it's the no...

Re: Sebs sweatshop
Thanks for the link to the video. I actually have that book and it's just a list of steps how to draw the patterns. But his running commentary explains why certain steps are required, and how to adjust the pattern if it's not correct. Very very helpful.

Re: Basketball team ban because of their sex
Can't have men losing to a woman, bad for morale. BS! Pure and simple. In events that are technological -- and shooting is one of those -- raw physical strength is not all that important. It's finesse. Of course it is. But the fact that some people decided she wouldn't be allowed to defend her titl...

Re: National Skirt Day
There is also a skirt day in Netherlands that is called Rokjesdag. They celebrates it later than United States. Well, it's not a fixed day. It's the first day of the year that noticably many women spontaneously wear a short skirt with bare legs. Usually the first day of the year it's 17-20C (that w...
